    I am seeing this for the first time and felt absolutely emotional. I couldn't make a out even a single word, but the emotions on their faces clearly shows the struggle for decades 😞 their love and respect for their ancestors is something that the entire world should learn. Love you all loads guys🎉🎉🎉 please continue the efforts the future generation must always remember the sacrifice that has brought us to were we are

    I get very emotional when I watch the HAKA because The HAKA was done in memory of a friend at his funeral.

    Random. Why do I cry every time I hear the haka? I've never known what it's even saying

    I may not be Maori, but I'm still samoan and hawaiian. And whenever I hear or do the haka, I feel the mana, the power of my own ancestors. To me, it's the connection to all of Polynesia

      Beautiful ✨ as someone outside of your culture I can say that you can really see & feel the power and knowledge flowing through Polynesian people when performing the haka that connects them to their ancestors & this huge interconnected woven net of humanity.

    I got emotional the first time I saw this and began looking into it. I didn’t know what it meant the first time I saw it but I do now and this video sheds more light to the emotional side. I’ll stop when I see a Haka being performed and I always am overwhelmed with emotion years after watching my first one. ❤️

    How old is the haka?

    • @Tuhiti.s
      @Tuhiti.s Před 11 měsíci +2

      the Haka is probably more than 1000 years old, because it was not born in Aotearoa but in the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia, and the settlement of the Marquesas by the Polynesians is made around 100 BC and 600 AC according to the dating to the carbon of the islands. Aotearoa is the last Polynesian land inhabited around the 13th century.

    • @uckbayz
      @uckbayz Před 10 měsíci

      Bruv the haka is older and than that, but it has and will always be Māori from AOTEAROA New Zealand, didn’t come from any where else

    • @Tuhiti.s
      @Tuhiti.s Před 10 měsíci

      @@uckbayz it is not because the all blacks popularize the Haka in it that it is native to you lmao, moreover the term Haka is not only Māori, it is just a historical and cultural fact, do not be sad you are just the last polynesians on the list there is nothing wrong.

    I am not against Haka, but to be honest I think the other teams have the same right to perform any dance or ceremony that inspires them, too. What do you think?

    • @SuzyKim84
      @SuzyKim84 Před 11 měsíci +4

      They DO have a right to do their own thing tho? Mantras, mottos, huddles, prayers, songs, maybe a cheer squad, etc. It’s just a matter of having one. W/ Haka, I think the entire team unites under similar beliefs/practice. Whereas other teams may be mixed so they just don’t have a thing.🤷🏻‍♀️👍🤓
