- One of the worst SO CALLED BUILT transmissions we’ve ever seen… Nothing looks to be replaced!!! We don’t understand how someone can even get away with this. Check out this mess of a unit and as always we hope you all enjoy thanks for watching. 👍🏼❤️🙏🏼

I’m enjoying Trent tear downs , the old man taught you well 👍👍
Trent, we love you brother. You will get less nervous as you do more teardowns. You are great. I get tremendous enjoyment out of watching you. Your style is so distinct from Richard's style, and just as excellent.
I was gonna say the same. You doing well youngin. No need to be nervous. 🙂
It's so obvious that you know EVERYTHING about what you're doing, just like your dad. I like watching your teardowns a little bit more for the reasons previously mentioned. You take it much slower.
No offense to Richard, but because he's done this a million times, he rushes through the process.
Just try to forget that we're watching you and your nervousness will disappear.
You're fantastic, like your dad with a very entertaining difference.
Rock on!
I don't live anywhere near Texas but these videos make me want to drive to Texas if I ever needed transmission work!
Trent is doing a fantastic job in this video. And i'm glad to see that Richard realizes that Trent is the true future of the channel. Richard isn't going to rebuild transmissions forever... he's already done it forever. One day he will retire and I think it's very smart to be doing these transitional videos now and getting the audience used to Trent being the host in advance so that it's a smooth transition when the time comes. Richard knows Trent's hard work putting these videos together and publishing them to CZcams is worth something and he's making the absolute correct decisions now to help the channel thrive in the future.
100 percent spot on.
Well done! Trent
This didn’t age well…
Trent, you're a very knowledgeable, young man! Great, job!
My pops passed his knowledge and wisdom down to me and it’s hard for me explain to others why no amount of money at any college in the world could compare with that. I’m glad to your example of how valuable that really is.
Yes sir. Back in the old days you had to earn the right to learn the trade by hard work and integrity. Those old timers giving you knowledge is gold. Now a days it’s hard to find kids with work ethic. Lots of them don’t know what integrity is.
Mechanics and welders in my family and not one of them ever took time to show me anything but the door.
@@L8terdays that’s messed up…. We’re you interested in it?
Ya but it all went south. They are closed now.
Great Job Trent, you are a natural. As a person that does some of my own transmission work, I learn something in just about every video.
Amazing, I've been watching from dam near the beginning, all your knowledge is amazing wish i were more of a mechanic (love british sprts cars) and watch all your videos. The best thing is your attitude towards family, positive attitude and positive outlook whatever comes your way. Your care for your community thinking back your donations is so commendable. Glad to see Cody part of the family, (painter of the dirty bird i believe. Richard and Teresa you all have done a wonderful job raising your family. You all should be proud.
Very cool video !😎
I went to school years ago for trans rebuilding I have only done turbo 350 & 400 and a couple 700R4 so I love how detailed you are and your knowledge of operation of each part !!!!!
Looking forward for next video !
Trent i know your ole man is proud!!
Absolutely phenomenal work.
Just like Richard your knowledge is amazing, keep it up you’re doing a great job!
You guys continue to raise the bar for every transmission shop in the world. I live in Indiana and I would happily drive (or tow) to your place without a second thought. Keep those videos coming.
Ya'll did a great job! Cody is steady fine on the camera too! Good stuff and all best!
I'm sorry, I disagree. The closeups were poorly focused, so what you were trying to show was a failure. I'm offering this criticism constructively, Cory. Please use it as an opportunity and a challenge to improve your video skills.
I like Trent. He moves slower and explains some the more basics.
He gets paid by the hour dad gets paid by the job 🤪🤪🤪
@@Justthemow lmaoooo
@@maxs.5905 haha! I didn’t say he was the better technician. Richard has 50 years experience but does not explain the basics. The same as a person who is good at math doesn’t guarantee they will be a great teacher or great players fail as coaches.
@@maxs.5905 don’t forget Richard blew burnt fluid all over Theresa. 🤦♂️
@@jeffreygoss8109 Richard was just trying to keep Theresa on her toes. After about 15 minutes she gets a bit shaky with the go pro.
Great video Trent! Its cool to hear the differences between the way you and Richard explain things.
Fantastic video Trent ,very technical and to the point ,nice filming Cody ,happy holidays to yall ,from Buffalo NY !!!
Great work lads ..... great to see you young guns in action and giving Richard a well earnt break. Keep up the great work team.
Awesome twist seeing you take the reins from your dad and your just as good as your dad and Cody’s a good camera man too!! Can’t wait to see more the sky is the limit !!!
Thank You Trent for letting me tag along, another great video!!
Great Job Trent love watching you guys work and doing it the right way .
The integrity and pride is shown in every video. Thank you nice work.
Great work young man. Keep learning, sharing, and growing! I'm always impressed when the younger generation teaches me something and does it well.
Great video. As I was watching this the saying, " The fruit never falls far from the tree." came to mind. Thanks again.
Defiantly looks like a junkyard unit! Thanks Trent!!
More good content from you folks. Many thanks for more understanding of how they work. I'm glad you can be smart for me.
Great job! I love watching these tear-downs.
Once it gets down to where all the fluid goes, in that mazelike structure, I'm just completely lost. That's some arcane knowledge required right there.
Aloha Trent, you're getting smoother and smoother on every tear down my friend. We sitting here drinking our Kona coffee watching you and Cody in action. I didn't get to meet Cody when I visited in the summer. Aloha hau'loi be kool 😎
Great Job. This is the first time I have seen Trent, I will definitely be looking forward to the next one.
Ya, great job.
Thanks Trent.
Great tear down Trent, when you learn from the best you become the best.
When I was finishing high school we were offered a transmission rebuild class. I was just weeks from graduation so it was too late for me. I now wish that could have happened. I could have made my career totally different. You're lucky to have such a great teacher in your dad. You can carry on the great work the shop is known for.
Maybe in your life time it would have been good. I think the future looks different with EV's.
@@2olvets443 hate Evs they are such a scam… sure they are cool… but I wouldn’t wanna drive one cross country… battery is dead gotta wait hours to get going again… no thanks
Been with this channel since 23k subs much love and holla from Long Beach Mississippi
Fine job Trent you showed us the parts that show regular wear and tear and pointed out the areas that show fail due to misuse and hard treatment I don't do transmission rebuilds but it helps for us to know areas that will fail and cause further damage I was able to follow right along as you pointed out the things to watch out for well done and thanks for a well put together presentation Semper Fi USMC
Transmissions are freakin' magic. Hats off to anyone who can tear one down and build it back up. I didnt think he'd ever stop pulling parts out of it.
I hope to be able to get to yall if I ever need transmission trouble. Love your commentary. Don't have any idea what you're talking about but it's very intriguing. Every time Richard says "simple" I have to scratch my head. Teresa's commentary is priceless
good work. its very easy to see what maintenance has been performed before you got it. and it seems that trans has been neglected. the 3-4 clutch pack was an absolute disgrace. he would have had to drive to your shop in 2nd gear.
Love your work Trent mate. Cheers from Brisbane Australia. Stay Safe.
The next generation in action. Great video.
Trent, that was a excellent explanation of how that tear down went, Good job
Been waiting 2 days for this! Happy thanksgiving 🍁🍽🦃
The 3/4 forward input shaft and drum assembly you should replace entirely! Once those 3/4 clutches and plates grind away ...the metal particles also grind away at the slots and those load springs!
I’m not 100% sure, but I think they know what they are doing.😒
I have always been fascinated by transmissions... the person that thought all this up was MONSTER smart... love this stuff...
great job dude you guys doing good work
Love this channel :) Always so pleasant to watch. And I don´t even do cars :) Just stumbled upon it and it was "like and subscribe" right away! Too bad I will probably never drive a car with automatic transmission since they are not a thing here in Europe and to rebuild one here will cost you a real fortune.
2020 and 2021 corvettes have a Tremec TR-9080 DCT and the dual clutch unit is a manual transmission hydraulically control with shift rails and the differential is built into the unit. It is quite unique to see in person. I've worked on quite a few and have had to replace one unit thus far in which Tremec wanted back to evaluate the failure.
Well presented. I understood what you were talking about.
Nice job Trent........your doin' great!!!
Good job young jedi your master has taught you well. Trent keep it up doing awesome
Definitely looks like a junkyard unit. Great job man. You're a natural
Trent good job man another educational video
Really good job mate, im liking the switch up.
Beautiful to see a father handing down his knowledge and business to his son. I’m envious because my father handed down shit. So this is great to see. Respect.
Hah, 40 dislikes… probably 39 of which are the shoddy shops in the area watching to see where they f’d up . Great video Trent .
We need some 46rh performance build and clearance detail videos !
It's a shame some "rebuilders" go cheap and take people's hard-earned money like this. It will be found out, eventually. Trent, you're a good man!
I agree but cant help but think a lot of this is probably fine and of course they are gonna point out every tiny little thing in videos like this.
great job buddy, keep em coming!
You are also enjoyable to watch. Good job making this video.
Pulls off pan, instant confirmation 👍 this thing is rough.
Excellent job!
Nice work! Good personality, good looking, tons of potential
Hope you guys do some more build videos, I know they take longer but it would be appreciated.
Excellent job Trent and Cody!!!!
Trent, Great job ! Totally enjoyed.
Doing good Kiddo, you learned from the best!
Hey Trent. I've already subscribed, hit the notifications bell, and flat out murdered yalls like button brother lol, love yall man.. great content. Keep it up Precision Trans.
Man that’s awesome thanks for watching 👍🏼🤘🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼
A comment on every video is the only other thing you can do!
Another Trent Teardown! Coolio! Always nice to see the masters apprentice
To understand, in my opinion, and rebuild properly an automatic transmission is a true skill that not everyone that does it possesses, you guys do a great job.
114👍's up PT thanks for the great education in keeping the knowledge coming
great to see your son taking on the business
Yall have the holy grail of 4l60e videos 👍
Great presentation style.✨
He is a great kid. Good job Trent!
Filter and pan are designed to keep the sump in fluid under higher g force cornering of the corvette. Or at least that was gm's plan. Especially for road race type applications. Just like the c8 now if you road race it they ask you to add an extra quart of tranny fluid.
That's someone who paid attention to his father whe he was learning. I love it, that's how you build a generational business!
I rebuilt my first 4l60e last year. Great feeling. I used transmission bench channel. Hes a good dude.
Good job trent and Cody. Glad Richard is coolin' it for a time. R&R for Rest and Recuperation from doing videos.
Nice job buddy. Missed your dad. However you did him proud..
Doing great, man! See more of your dad in ya every day
I hope Cody realizes how lucky he is to have the opportunity to work for/with you guys. I’d literally chop a toe off to have that same opportunity to work with y’all. 😂
Why does it have to be luck? Maybe he is just good at what he does and takes pride in his work?
They showed some of his install on a previous video. Top notch, marking all fasteners, noting known open holes, he is a good tech. Just keep at it man, pay attention to the small details, and take pride in your work. It took me 10 years, and a willingness to leave jobs that were no good, to finally find a quality shop like Richards... Just keep grindin and youll get there.
You AreDoing A Great Job!
Hey, Cody... can you look at this modulating valve? Squirt! Don't worry...he'll learn soon enough! ;~)
Always nice to see Richard Backatcha 😊👍🇬🇧
Trent your dad needs to watch out! You are rocking it! (He does too)!
Awesome job young man, although you might want to stop and take a breath once in awhile. LOL... those are definitely some very good morals to have these days, about longevity of things lasting.
And this one is for senior, you raised a very polite well-mannered young man...
Nice Trent is doing teardowns young Richard LOL🤠👍👍
Good job Trent! Explained more of the basics for us less knowledgeable about transmission inner workings.
To me rebuilt is not as good as remanufactured. Rebuilt you only replace what is worn. Reman you replace all wear items. Rebuilt usually means you’ll get excessive and faster than normal wear because, a lot of things get only eyeballed and if it ain’t broke, you don’t replace it.
When a reman is done right, it’s the same or better than the original because it gets all the updates in addition to all new wear items.
Trent. you're growing into the teaching role well. You're not your dad, but neither am I. We all have our own styles. Cody, get a little closer to the action if you would. ATF washes off... eventually. Thank you both and keep up the good work.
Can you tell us where the transmission was supposedly rebuilt, I sure wouldn’t mind knowing so I don’t take my rig to the wrong shop. A few greedy unconscionable mechanics really make it hard to trust the good mechanics who try hard to do good work and give a working man break. Too bad you can’t tar and feather a sheister anymore
Awesome job man!
Great video Trent
Dang!!!!! Trent is doing the build???!!!! Phenomenal job pal.
Trent a very good job. It is very clear who trained you. As far as this transmission it look like a junk yard rescue. They took this guy if they told him it was rebuilt.
Trent your nervous man. I died when you said EPA all nout that gas mileage lol. EPA don't care about gas mileage. They want to get rid of the emissions
They want us riding bikes and busses while the head of EPA drives a tax payer provided SUV
Wow video on the red dodge plz. You guys are amazing
Son like father he might be a little slower but that that's (good) hey Merry Christmas👍👍👍
Trent, you are making your daddy proud!
awesome video
Good job on the video and nicely detailed explanations.
Can the 5 pinion planetaries be fitted to the non Corvette transmissions? If so, are the gear ratios much different?
Great job Trent.
Doing great bro.
Sounds like my issue back in the 80’s. The other shop would tell people he would rebuild the transmission for $175. When really all he did was replace a band , 1 clutch set and filter. Washed out with gasoline.
At that time I charged an average $700 for R&R , parts and labor. Had to explain every time why I charged what I did.
That was a junkyard trans sold as a rebuild. Shame on them. Good work! 👍
