a lot of people didnt get this one, but the girlypops ate it uppp. This whole album is fantastic, exactly what we needed and expected from StayC !!
That's kind of the way it always goes with them. They do something innovative, people have a knee-jerk reaction, and then they come to realize "oh, wait, that was actually amazing."

Music producer here…I think the reason the second chorus hits is because of the unorthodox song structure. As you mentioned, it’s a really long build to it, so not only are you anticipating it, but also already familiar with it the second time. The first time you kind of don’t know what’s going on and the second time it clicks. I don’t know if it’s by design (if so, genius) but I fucking love it.
When BEP makes a song that makes you go “it’s good I think but really different” you just know youll be calling it genius in a week. Fr tho

100% true. Didn't like the song at first particularly the 'ringa ma ding dong' line. Sounded like a lazy kpop songwriting to me but oh my god a few days after is just what I needed to listen to it on repeat!
They were warning us for like a month before it dropped, they were like "we are doing something DIFFERENT, a DIFFERENT sound, something you DON'T hear much in kpop" and I mean they were right

I agree, I really love Isa’s vocal tone singing the second chorus. For me, how bright her tone is really fits the vibe of the song and brings out the chorus more than the first time you hear it.

people hated it when it came out and i understand why people wouldn't like it, but it's so stayc and i immediately loved it. It's on the shorter side and honestly i don't mind it cause i think it would be too repetitive and boring if it went on for too long.
Think it's a bit "underwhelming" considering its the title for their 1st studio album, but honestly i think it may be one of their best titles (but for me Run2U is still at the top)

I love how the instrumental doesn't let up! It's so addictive and keeps you bumping. I love fast-paced songs that take you on a ride throughout the entire thing. Feels like the adrenaline rush you get from playing at the arcade
I feel like classically trained musicians definitely appreciate this song!
What i really like in this song is how their voices were treated, in a way were each of them have a distinct sound, and so even if the chorus is the exact same, it feels completely different. Along with the sound "design" (the choice of instruments) this is, for me, what makes this song sooo good !

Maybe the second prechorus sounds different because Sieun and Yoon are always the chorus singers in all of title tracks, and in that part they were the ones singing the second prechorus
Along with Aespa, Dreamcatcher, NMIXX, and Kiss of Life, this is definitely my fav song of the year so far. It just got in my head and it hasn't left yet it's so catchy and so fun and im obsessed with the chorus

It took me a couple listens to get it, but once I did I was HOOKED. As a Run2U enthusiast I am really happy they have gone back to that sound. The cuter stuff, like Bubble and Teddy Bear, is great but I just love when they do stuff like So Bad and Run2U. It feels so quintessentially Stayc!

personally i thought this was a much better comeback than teddy bear and bubble, not sure why people are hating when it's literally their first good title release since run2u
tbf, korea performance-wise, teddy bear and bubble were one of the hits and most replayed ones and i can see why. it has the usual stayc style of being bubbly, fun, and lighthearted while not having much complicated instrumentals and that seems to be what korea likes a lot.
despite that, i could say that stayc still never missed a single title track since debut and they've always been bangers with different styles. they're offering us something different everytime that will surely fit everyone's liking.

Big difference for me between the two choruses were the lyrics. The second chorus had more English. Don’t know why, but I def noticed. However, I felt the first chorus sounded better 😭

I love this song it’s so camp and unlike majority of other kpop releases currently. Like it’s giving T-ARA.
I think the second chorus hits harder for you because you’re expecting it, whereas the first chorus comes on pretty early in the song so you aren’t sure if it’s a chorus or not. The members delivery too, Seeun has a softer tone than Sieun and there’s more English in the second chorus which is more common in kpop choruses

when the title track was first revealed, i reaaaally wasn't sure how to feel about it. but like they said, don't judge a book by it's cover. this is amazing. it's wacky and weird but it's so pleasing to the ears
also the album, 10/10. if your album of the previous decade was BTOB - Brother Act, STAYC - Metamorphic might be the album of this decade.

The momentum and the reason the second chorus feels different is because the overall production of the song is very static (as opposed to being dynamic), so your ears (brain) literally haven't gotten used to the fact that its the chorus you're listening to until the second time around.
You can tell that this song is not going to be popular because its not mainstream enough and its very different from their previous stuff. Its too bad cause the song actually bangs, although it is a grower for some.
Im so mad i didnt listen to this cause i hated the title but its a certified bop for sure
