    Here at Peak Design, we love bikes. We commute to work on bikes. We thrash bikes down mountains. One of us (Jaimee) even races bikes professionally. So when we set out to create a Mobile bike mount worthy of the PD badge, the bar was set pretty high. The result: This Bad Larry.
    The Out Front Bike Mount lets you rigidly mount your phone to your bike's handlebars, access it instantly, and even flip it up to film your ride. Built from ultralight machined/anodized aluminum, the Out Front Bike Mount features an ultra-strong magnetic/mechanical mounting technology (called SlimLink) that grabs and locks so effortlessly, it feels like magic. Remove your phone instantly with the press of a button. Designed to hold your phone in front of your handlebars for optimized viewing, it can also be configured to sit below or behind your handlebars to accommodate bike computers. An included thumbscrew lets you reposition your phone on-the-fly to film your ride. And an included accessory mount lets you attach a bike light or action camera. Whether it's a quick commute or a century ride down gravel trails, the Out Front Bike Mount keeps your phone safe and viewable always and forever, amen.

    I've loved this bike mount ever since I got it. The only way to improve it is to send it back in time, to the time the pyramids were created, so that civilisation would have grown along the path of bicycle technology for centuries and every road would thus be built with bike lanes as a priority...
    That or make a garmin accessory so that I can attach my garmin computer on the same mount.

    You should have explained how to install the spacers. There is a small spacer preinstalled, which you need to take off first. Then fitting in the fitting spacer is easy. And you should make OnePlus cases.

    Any plans for a finger loop option for the iPhone 11 series case lineup? I would find it very useful, especially with my 11 Pro Max, but sadly isn't available. It's the lack of this option that's holding me back haha.

      As a former Quad Lock user for something like 4 or 5 years, this is way better. (They have a motorcycle mount with a vibration damper but not for bikes. Bikes don't usually have the same type of vibrations that cause issues in my experience.)

    Hey PD, are you guys going to make a car mount that either mounts to the vent or suction cup? Nobody answers this!

    • @peakdesignvideo
      @peakdesignvideo  Před 2 lety +5

      In short, yes. Our engineers are indeed working on a vent mount, though it is not far enough along in development to give even a ballpark release date (especially considering the difficulty we've had over the last year of estimating timelines for our Mobile products). We've also got a solution in the works for folks who wish to mount with a suction base...same story regarding estimated timeline.
      Our Mobile ecosystem is here to stay, and so you can expect that we will continue to build out this product line to support more mounting use cases, as well as more phone models. Our customer service and engineering teams catalog and review user feedback, so please don't hesitate to send your product suggestions to info@peakdesign.com!

    • @Stealther
      @Stealther Před 2 lety

      @@peakdesignvideo thanks for the reply! I wish this was a launch item but I get that you can’t do everything at once. Maybe my use case isn’t as common as I think it is? I’m just very against putting VHB on my dash.

    • @peakdesignvideo
      @peakdesignvideo  Před 2 lety +2

      @@Stealther it's safe to say that you're not alone in not wanting to stick VHB to your dash. we started with the VHB mount for a number of reasons, all revolving around delivering the best user experience we could for the widest variety of users and vehicles. there's also some challenges to solve with vent mounting that we knew would take some time to solve. traditional vent mounts are only as stable as the vent fins they are attached to. they tend to lack viewing angle adjustability and magnetic connection strength. they also pretty much guarantee that your vent will be blocked by your phone. there's a lot of opportunity to make a better vent mount...and we aim to design one that is objectively the best.

    • @Stealther
      @Stealther Před 2 lety +1

      @@peakdesignvideo I agree with your observations of the disadvantages of the vent mount and look forward to any innovations you can bring to that mounting point!
      Personally I use a suction cup mount with a extendable and vertical swing arm. Those mounts are all plastic and do bounce when the car is in motion but it’s the most flexible. They are however not compliant with California’s Vehicle Code (26700 - 26712) but they hold better than the sticky suction cups on textured dashboards.
      If I’m just wishing aloud I’d love to see a mount with an attachment point that had a 1/4-20 connection so you had the option to attach other extensions (like a magic arm) in between the mounting point and the phone mount.

    Sadly in America, people will steal anything - especially a very nice Bike Mount like Peak's so the thumb screw is really not an option (but preferred). I'm thinking about moving as there is just too many thieves around wherever you go in America. This is why we can't have nice things.
