Mop Top - I'm Alright / Forever (Verbal Assault)
Vložit
- čas přidán 26. 02. 2008
- Brooklyn in the house! Released in 1996 on Break A Dawn Records. Forever (Verbal Assault) features Big Grei, Nine, Diablo, Freestyle & Inner Soul. KRS ONE is sampled at the end while Spin One scratches the Show & AG "Next Level" verse "showing all these corny motherfuckers what hip hop's supposed to sound like".
"I'm Alright" is another heater. The dude kickin' the second verse drops it heavy on "female savages." Spin One blesses you with another scratched hook coupled with a Slick Rick vocal sample. - Hudba

the feeling of the first time listening to a gem like this is undescribable. these songs have existed for decades and you just randomly discover them one day and will love them forever. you just never want to stop listening and wonder how you've never heard this combination of sounds for your entire life. I'm both sad I didn't live through the era where this was coming out of boxes and radio everywhere but I'm also so glad that I can enjoy the feeling of discovering these masterpieces by myself. hiphop lives forever
such a bummer that only im alright is on spotify, forever is so good too
Hey, Bruz.. This is Hip Hop. Not Dr. Phil.
That is the comment I expect to see under such videos. Cheers and much love!
We used to pass those cassettes like dealers pass the drug. Everybody knew a guy back then. You had to wait for a week just to record it off MTV :)
Peace to those who still believe in real hip - hop.
Hiphop is dead. Artist who tried to rap wont make it today. You have to look like the rainbow, mumble nonsens lyrics with autotune on a beat made on a computer, no sample,no real instrument, no cuts or scratches
🙏🏾
lol sure
Don't ask who's still here in 2020 because we never left.
lol
i'm tired of seeing those damn comments. Like stop trying to get some likes by reposting the same ass comment, THE MUSIC IS GOOD EITHER WAY

But I can’t find anything on Mop Top anywhere? No Apple Soundcloud or Band Camp. Sounds very Tribe Called to me.
How is this possible that there is still amazing gems like this after all these years
This is part of a healthy hip hop education
Word up! Peace from germany
This era in Hip-Hop is so unique and had the most powerful impact in music history
The underground exists, but one must search through the deepest darkest depths.
That's so tru
i know right
+lrgman1313 so where is it now?
hell
lrgman1313
I'm just going to assume it doesn't exist then. I've found one group that make "real hip-hop" in all this time and even then they're so obscure that I'm probably their only fan
Almost 10 minutes of pure lyricism
One of my absolute favorites to come back to or to hear randomly show up on the playlist. Whatever the mood, always get "into" the "correct" mood quick!
The GOLDEN part of youtube where the thumbnails are record covers
Love the vibes in the comment section in every 90s hip hop song on YT. True untouched music like this will live on forever.
Forever...and ever! ;p
im gonna touch the music
These type of songs makes me wanna sit on a floor, a side walk or my car seat! Something doesn't feels right listening to them on a regular chair or a couch or a bed!🌟💯☻
The different drums used for this make it an instant masterpiece for me.
You know it's the good stuff when there's a vinyl in the picture.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WHAT IS THIS?! I FEEL LIKE I JUST UNCOVERED THE HOLY FUCKING GRAIL OF HIP HOP!
I feel like you just discovered the caps key.
Try Wordsworth . . headlines*

I LOVE HIP HOP AND RAP, YEAH THAT'S WHERE MY HEART IS!
agreed
I was craving some hip hop this morning for the first time in years and this certainly hit the spot
Today is the first time I hear this song and it took me to the 90s where we used to walk a very long distance to listen to hip-hop, if you had a very good collection you were like a God amongst men.
That was Pretoria for you.
If you're late 10 minutes already, and this song starts playing, you'll be late a total of 20 minutes. You know how it is...
This global lock down has brought back a ton of tracks that are lost... and you my brother have put a SMILE on my face... got the floors shaking... 7.3 on the richter scale.. none stop head bangin hours of hours of lost art 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Born 1977, growing up listen to Boombap in the 90s was a blessing.
Soo meny trax was fire back then, flow, scratching, beats/rhythm, bars, nothing get even close today.
love to see them old music popup on CZcams. For me Hiphop went south around 2002 until today.
I just listen to some of the new hiphop, but mostly Hiphop from 1988-2002, cant stop listen to the old stuff.
Hands down for 'ONYX' that still grinding. and the rest of the 90s heads
That song "Forever" will forever be my favorite song 💯🔥🔥
this is why the underground is always gonna be the best no doubt!!
Thanks CZcams, for recommending another banger I can add to my playlist.
Honestly, thank you for that, cannot believe how that one passed by me, what a beat and lyrically brilliant. Old school rap, best genre of music!
2020 and finally found this joint!! Peace boobacrazy for this.... I was 16 went this joint dropped so you can imagine how I feel right now!!! Thank you!
Thank you for making this track it's calming to the heart body mind and soul
I don’t know how I never heard this song before, it’s freaking great
Found this and ready to start my remote work day. Judging from the sounds...it's gonna be a great day! One phrase, when the East is in the house...we come equipped! Love the ole school!
Shout out Jeru the Damaja
First NWA, then A Tribe called Quest, Mobb Deep, MF Doom, Run the Jewels, Block City Kids, Nas, Tupac and the Almighty Wu Tang Clan👐🏽...
And now, Top Mob

This came up randomly for me.
Such a flashblack hearing Nine's voice.
the part where the chill i'm alright singed lyric is one of the best parts of the song
@Thomas Panyi Double thumbs up
Mindblowing, too much flow, technicality and crazy beat. Jeeeeezzzzzzzzz
In 2008 this masterpiece was posted to yt. Wow. It’s 2020 as I write this. 12 years forward and 12 years back.
and if you add those together, you get the years of how long ago it was released my friend. (24) Coincedence? We''ll never know.
Classic hip hop they don't make it like this no more
i do.
Lord Mischief man that shit is garbage
+Lord Mischief so bad its like a parody. I think you need sectioning
Only the second 1 sucks with his newskool lines
well it couldn't be classic if so
I’m here in 2021 and you know what, this will never get old.
Its 2020 and you still in underground digging Old Hip hop Songs
this is overhuman rap quality, my head remain nodding to these days
Dope. First time I heard this was at a house party in Beunos Aires with my at the time GF, she's a folk musician there, makes good music. She knew the DJ and thought I would appreciate how she got down. Mainly spun Argentine music, but a wide range of genres. I think she put this one on for me, the one American there lol. Was always curious where/how she came across this record. I recognized it all these years later cause of Nine's verse on it. Memories...
Nine's got that voice you can't miss
Arriba los pibes and the good shit 🇦🇷
Viva argentina papaaaaa
Super recognizable voice. (NINE) He lived/hung in my hood in NY. Dyckman.

Yes its Nine a very good friend of the crew he took us on tour with him back in the day .
Goodness gracious.
This just popped up on my random mix.
Game changer.
24 years ago and it 's still fire !!
sound waves of hip hop reverberate my spinal cord.
I don't know you or where you are but thank you for this! I'm a white kid living in a village in England. I got a stiffy like Kevin at the house party when I heard this song! BLACK LIVES MATTER! Without it there's no rock n roll (Little Richard) or hiphop (DJ Kool Herc). Fuck oppression, music is love!

Exactly 💯 Friday Labor Day Weekend . Content is Worldwide now. Love this😎💯❤️💥👍🔥
13 years later, There is someone can put the lyrics here ??? My best wish after this sad period is just to know this lyrics.
Nine kills everything he's in. His voice is iconic, how did he not blow up?
Cause people dont appreciate real rap and rather claim eminems the rap god or jay z lol
