- It's Pink Cliff! This is the first of the two Lamy Special Edition ink & pen sets for 2024 that I'll be reviewing here. The pen is a matte blue plastic, and the grip section is bright pink. It's the kind of color-pop-reveal that I really enjoy on a pen, and I'm glad that Lamy is getting into some more adventurous colors and combinations.
The ink is a chill dark blue. I don't know why it's called "cliff," but I do really like the color. It's also a bit wet, and that's nice for a Lamy ink, too. It's good.

Lamy is on of those companies that really thinks about the consumers convenience.
They definitely need to put the name on the bottle and the box. I like that they included some bottling paper, though. Nice color!
The design is good, but they gotta name them.
The name of the pink cliff one seriously made me feel like I am being punked. I fell off a cliff in September and broke my leg really bad and seeing that they named it pink cliff feels like such a weird coincidence!
Kudos for the Cliff Claven reference.
I noticed the inconsistency about the ink names, too - and I agree the boxes should have the name of the ink on them.
I’m waiting for my bottle of Cliff to arrive. I do see pink tones in the chromatography, but maybe that’s just my phone’s screen. I enjoy shimmering and sheening inks, but I’m going to be glad to have a break from them and add a new shader to my ink wardrobe.
Nice review, Mike!
Thanks! Don't get too used to "normal" inks: the next ink will be sheeny!
@@inkdependence I like sheeny inks, too. I can't think of a review I wish you hadn't done. 😂
When you said quilted toilet paper I automatically thought Charmin 🐻🐻. I purchased both colors and I love them but agree that the ink bottles need to have a color name or number somewhere.
Give us a sticker or something, Lamy!
Loving this color ink.
Wow! Love these inks. Must buy everything associated to them, and use them every day to create things which in turn creates wealth.
I don't know about the wealth thing, but I do like these inks.
Hmmm. I have a bottle of Kobe #38 and love it, and only have a sample of the Van Gogh and wanted more ... maybe I do want a bottle of this.
Yeah, I think it's great, and especially at the price.
I feel like blue-blacks have a more grey undertone. While this one (in your swatch, on my phone screen) seems very blue, but not bright, a sneaky blue. Like it slithered away from the night sky.
I like that imagery.
I saw them in person and like them even more than I expected. Now I want to see a "green cliff". In fact I want to see all the cliffs. Don't they usually do a limited AL-Star too? I'm curious if they'll do something similarly interesting.
I don't know if they will, but that'd be cool. They did those fluorescent sections on the Shiny Red AL-Star, so they've got the technology for it.
This looks like a very moody blue to me. I think I prefer this to the Violet Blackberry. The lack of sheen is a plus.
Yeah, I think "moody blue" is accurate. I like the sheen of Blackberry, but it's not going to be for everyone.
@@inkdependence From what videos I have seen you can't properly see the ink at all.
Se puede una Lamy safari negro con violeta?
I'm not really sure what you mean, but my Spanish is poor. You can certainly use whatever ink in it you like. (Is that what you were asking?)
@@inkdependence Sorry, I was referring to the outside of the fountain pen
@@reispab There was a Dark Lilac pen a few years ago, but there isn't one for this year.
How in this green Earth is that pink a pink!? Is there something wrong with my eyes I wonder!
I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. The section of the pen is certainly pink. The rest is blue, as is the ink.
