  • Filmed on VHS-C in 1998. The ship is "Norröna" (I), formerly "Gustav Vasa", now "Logos Hope", built in 1973. Originally in service as the "Gustav Vasa" for the Malmö-Travemünde car ferry route, she was acquired by Faroese company Smyril Line in 1983 and served as the "Norröna" between Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Iceland for twenty years, from 1983 to 2003, also stopping in Bergen (Norway) and Lerwick (Shetland Islands) for a time. When a new "Norröna" was built for Smyril Line, this ship was sold to a Christian missionary organisation and sails now as the "Logos Hope".

Thanks for sharing! In 1996 we visited Iceland with our motorcaravan and crossing the North Sea aboard the Norrona was an experience we will never forget
