That's, apparently, what a certain Mr. Johnny Wakefield had to say about that wonderful invention, the taxi, in 1908. Here the original disc is played on a Paillard gramophone, made in Switzerland, filmed with a fisheye effect.

Thanks for your comment and sorry for the late reply; yes, the battery is needed just for the flash. By the way: There were two types of flash cubes. The later "X" cubes or "Magicubes" did not need a battery, but can't be used with this camera.
