That sucks I watched the sxsblog.com guys hit a tree at 50+ and didn't do much damage and was still made it out of the woods fine . Also whenever you buy a brand new model you should already expect a lack of parts . That is why you should always let the new model work the kinks out .

I bought a brand new Highlifter 1000 in 2016 the end of October planed on a Glamis trip at Thanksgiving never got my ride from Dealer till second week in December the Clutch was defective the Computer was defective the cam position sensor and cam follower junk all on a brand new Razor. Took 2 dealerships and 30 hours calls to Polaris and secret phone numbers to finally get resolve so I know the pain. I have owned their snowmobiles and was never like this. Razors are about ship and volume you spend all this money it should worth it. Good part is now after 3 months at the dealer I have a reliable wheeler. Finding a reliable dealer just as hard as finding a reliable razor.

Plus it is less expensive than the Pro XP and I wouldn't have to worry about belts anymore.

Wow, sorry to hear that your going through this. I was considering one of these for next spring, not now. Its reminiscent of the problems they have had with the earlier models burning up. There head of the safety division quit due to the issues there were having that the executives were ignoring. One child has died as a result of the fires so far and others seriously burned. (before anyone shoots this down, look it up!) I thought they would have learned there lesson? They have touted this as being the be all end all, I guess not. The reason the staff doesn't know whats going on is there to busy trolling the internet to give bad reviews or exposing flaws on anyone saying anything bad about there units, which is evidenced by the negative reviews your getting. I appreciate what your doing to bring the facts to the surface on your unit so others won't be subjected to the same thing! Polaris needs to smarten up! There's nothing worse then becoming part of the ignore pile!

The Honda Talon 1000R is absolutely amazing. btw, I have seen a couple seriously crashed, parts are available and affordable. It is also designed to not bend the frame as it has bolt on sections that are easily replaceable. Maintenance is amazingly easy too. The performance is very impressive. Power on demand with the 6 speed transmission, also the best engine breaking on any machine.

I’m thinking the thicker part of those calipers are skewing the measurement. Please don’t get me wrong. Not trying to be a jerk. Just curious. Also, can you elaborate how the radiator was damaged? Thank you for the update.I have a RZR Turbo S and was looking at the Pro XP 4 but after watching your video and see a Pro lay on its side in Glamis i am disappointed. It seem like Polaris might be trying too make money on there parts or they really overlooked the strength of there plastics and weak points on the machine. One thing they didnt overlook is the price. Hopefully they will have a correction in the works, the executive you talked should be put on blast and future conversations recorded. Had a 2012 RZR XP900 and it was on my lift being repaired more than it was On the trails! I dumped more than $14,000 into that damn razor that I ever dreamed I would have to! I have driven all kinds of machines from all kinds of makers and never have I seen such junk as a Polaris! I’ve been a certified mechanic for over 40 years And a fabricator and I can tell you these things are not built well at all! Thin tubing, way undersized parts for the weight of the machine, cheap plastics, bad design in general, and the list just keeps going! Overpriced garbage! I was sitting on a hillside and my razor just fell over on its side and did a ton of damage! Recently I have seen a few videos of the new wildcat XX rolling down a mountain and when it hit the bottom the only damage was a cracked piece of plastic, it push the tire off the rim, and the roll cage was pushed down about an inch! That’s it! He drove it afterwards! If you compare the type of material, the thickness of the material, and the design of how the wildcat is built it puts Polaris to shame! Just my opinion of 40 years but I will never buy ever another Polaris!!!

I think it’s proof they have bad design and quality when an OEM part breaks or wears out prematurely, and you replace it with an aftermarket part, and it lasts 3 to 10 times longer!
Polaris, and some other manufacturers, should do this in the first place! Why don’t they? $$money$$
They blame the worn or broken parts on us then try to sell you another!
I also blame many out there that “accept” the idea that it’s “normal” to wear out and break things! More money/credit than brains in most cases!
Again, why does aftermarket last many times longer than OEM?
OEM wants to sell you overpriced parts over and over again until you get tired and buy a new machine!
Again, sorry for what you are going through.

The issues you've had with Polaris are indicative of a company that has put excessive emphasis on profits and share holder value and far less emphasis on product quality and customer satisfaction. I have seen this happen to a major fire truck manufacturer when an inexperienced CEO was installed and within a few years they lost significant market share along with much lower stock prices. Polaris continues to focus on marketing, high volume and profit margins -- I'm guessing that they've lost market share over the past several years and will likely continue to slide as their competition offers superior quality products and a higher level of customer service.

Off road fun Z Man I am so sorry you have to go through this crap with Polaris! I bought mine in 2012 due to all the hype of how good they were ha ha and like I said in my review the damn thing was on my lift more than it was on the trail! Within the first 10 hours I Bent both rear axles like pretzels and I called Polaris they told me that I was riding it too hard and that I shouldn’t hold on the throttle through the whoops although their videos always showed them with the throttle mashed to the floor through whoops and everything!!!
They’re just junk plain and simple. They use undersized parts, and have really bad engineering. I replaced everything that I broke was aftermarket parts and the aftermarket parts lasted for years! So that tells me that the original parts are crap! Polaris will not help you with anything! Oh yeah within that first 10 hours that also includes the center carrier bearing that went bad on the first ride within one hour! So within 10 hours I needed all the bushings in the front, all four ball joints, outer tie rod ends, rear axles, and all four wheel bearings! Again I am so sorry for you I went through it I will never buy Polaris again ever! By the way I did buy a new 2019 wildcat XXLTD and I have put 800 miles on it and haven’t touched a thing! Built like a tank. Yeah it has its issues like everybody else but nothing at all like a Polaris! I have beat this wildcat way harder than I ever push that Polaris and I have done nothing to it in repairs. I hope your machine works out for you or at least you can find some parts and get it back together. Hey there’s a place out in Arizona I think it’s called Arizona cycle parts Or something like that they deal with a lot of wrecked side-by-side’s and believe it or not they might just have something for yours already. They help me out a lot with my razor before I sold it. Best day of my life good luck buddy

This story has just turned sad. It's painful to hear how much is expected to come out of your pocket for this. Sounds like you would be better off buying a new one and meshing parts together. You are already more than half way there. Or hey better yet, Polaris keeps what you have already paid and ships you a new one. Sounds like China is the manufacture location to me.

Well here's a little info for all you people out there that think you can buy one of these and start jumping and blasting over rough terrain, ha ha stupid. The roll cages are a one and done system. They are not build to have multiple rollovers. Them protect the passengers one time thats it. Thats why people in the know spend 4, 5, 6 thousand dollars on real roll cages that are strong enough to with stand real crashes. Thats why there is so much damage. It did its job
