Remember, slave or little minion of the grandmasters above you... once you have reached the top where there is pure evil, you wish you would have never joined. Only dumbies do. Nowadays there are plenty of ways to get information before doing something really stupid... unless you willingly want to be evil. Good luck!

Hi Ben. I've been steering away from the OTO as I don't want the flack from misinformed commentators on YT. I think it'll just open up a can of worms that I don't want to deal with ATM. I have some knowledge of Martinism, but certainly not as a practitioner. Will see what I can dig up.

Does a master mason have to become an officer when asked to do so? What if he thinks he is not capable of performing the role?
No they don't. But none of the roles are particularly difficult except perhaps of the WM, Secretary and Treasurer; albeit your secretary and treasurer are usually incumbents and already have years of practical business experience.
Every Mason should go through the officer line in my view. It rounds out the experience of Blue Lodge

I understand that this is a lecture from another source, and with that I disagree insofar as the Tyler is the most junior officer's role. In hierarchy, perhaps, but it is incumbent on lodges to place their PMs alone as Tylers. A Mason's first officer role should be IG/Steward etc, and move up all the way to the East. A newly raised Mason has no business being on the outside of a lodge room, not for a few years at least.

I agree, the Tyler must be the rank of past master this way he can try and prove any person enter the lodge if they can not be vouched for by another member of the lodge.
I agree. My lodge has a policy, that where appropriate, the Tyler of a Lodge, is always a Brother who has just completed his year as IPM. Naturally, some Brethren may physically be unable to do the job, in which case, a suitable replacement is found.

I'm afraid that Scottish Rite rituals are very closely restricted (in Australia at least) and are not available for purchase to my knowledge.
Maybe someone else who reads this can help?
If you are an EA you generally wouldn't be allowed in a 1) Scottish Rite meeting 2) you won't (or shouldn't) be allowed to attend meetings of other constitutions unless accompanied by a MM of your lodge due to the fact that there is and overlap between the rituals of the 3 degrees in different jurisdictions.
Masters of Lodges are often compared to babies diapers. We change them regularly and for the same reason! 😁

Would I be correct in saying that the collar of an officer...like JD or SW...should NOT have a silver braid down the middle of it? I've seen collars with silver braid down it...what does that denote?
A lot depends upon the jurisdiction and any Grand Rank that the wearer may hold. It's variable. 😊

Hmmm. I'm UGLQ, which uses UGLE regalia. I know I've seen the silver braid both in photos and in person, but I'm not sure what it represents. Maybe someone else in the commentariat has an idea??
@@FromtheQuarries I THINK... that the officers of a Lodge, from Steward right up to SW wear a blight blue collar with no braid... cos they are acting in that position...however, PAST XXXX wears the silver braid? The IPM and Past Masters wear a collar with silver braid? Maybe someone will confirm, or put me right on that.
