Great selection ! Siam Bayshore, qyite open 50 years ago is top, my favorite, Nautical Inn, oldest in town, open on 61, is unique on beach road
Thanks. Siam Bayshore has been a very popular hotel for many years, yes. but has been open for 50 years? I didn't know this.
Good selection of mostly mid-priced hotels (3+ stars), but the photos of the swimming pools are somewhat deceptive especially the rooftop ones. The rooftop pools are more for soaking than swimming because of their short length.
Unfortunately, this is the case with many hotels. When I'm in Thailand from March, I'll also need a larger, deeper pool for swimming laps. These larger bathtubs in many hotels are hardly refreshing.
The room you show at Areca Lodge isn't a B1000 per night. It's more of a B1650+ per night and some customers say it's very grubby and overrated.
Good choice but mostly over 1500bht ty.
Here is a video about girlfriendly budget hotels. some with pool and bar too

Headed back there in 12 days. I generally stay @ the Jomtien Thani, Tong Mee Guest House in Hua Hin, and R Con Siam in Tree Town. But rates will be lower in July and I will be doing a few walk ins to inquire (or a long term because rates go down)
Thanks for the tips, I'll take a look at that too (R Con Siam)
@@pattayamoments It's pretty basic. In the alley across fr. Witherspoon's. Was 700 THB a night in early May
❤
Does the Areca have a gym?
Yes, have: www.arecalodge.com/facilities.html
Areca is apparently an over priced dive. I can't talk from experience, but some Pattaya vloggers say it's overpriced for what you get. Personally I like D-Appartments opposite New Plaza just off Soi Buakhao with huge, immaculate balcony rooms for 900-1000 baht per night with a rooftop pool.
@manosparavida3551 It's not easy with the price information, as they are based on the season and also on how busy a hotel is at the moment. We're trying to find an average here.
Overall however, Areca has very good reviews and is repeatedly mentioned as a recommendation.
