I've had quite a few people asking me how to make the giant number displays, so here's the tutorial you've been waiting for. I hope you enjoy it. Remember to leave me a comment to let me know what you think. Take care, everyone.
Splendid 👌👌👌👌 tutorial
Thank you so much ☺️
Hermoso arreglo bendiciones
Muchas gracias ☺️
I hope you enjoy this number display balloon tutorial. I love making these giant designs - each one is different and you have to use your artistic judgement when deciding where to place the balloons. I'd love to know what you think in the comments here.
:)
Stunning artwork. Love it.
Thank you very much, Andy ☺
This is fabulous. I've just subscribed and I can't wait to see what's next!
Thank you, Linsey. Glad you like this design ☺.
Omg I can't wait to have a go
Would love to know how you get on, Melanie ☺
This very elegant and chic. Particularly I don't like how pale pink balloons look like, however with these other balloons colours looks awesome :)
Thank you
Thanks you so much for the tutorial
Hi Aurore. You're very welcome. Thank you, Melanie
Hi. I like this design. I have 26 nieces and nephews between the ages of 2-52. Almost a birthday every month. I can adapt this to make it more personal.
Ida, you are going to be so busy (and fabulously popular!) Glad you like this. Take care, Melanie
Esta bellísima 👍🏼saludos
Hola Claudia. Muchas gracias ☺
Wow 😲 great beautiful balloons goodbless 🙏 ma'am thnks
Hi Joselyn, thank you very much. Take care, Melanie🎈
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing your work.
Thank you very much. You're very welcome ☺️
Hi so glad I’ve found your page . My question is why do you double stuff the same color balloons ? Color vibrancy ? I know I’ve double stuffed to create pastel or marble effect . Once again great content ! Cheers from NY !
Hi Yulissa. Great to hear from you. If I know my client is going to put the display on the floor, I double-stuff the first layer of the base to make that layer a bit sturdier and more durable. Sorry I didn't mention this in the video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Take care, Melanie
Love this Melanie, what size foil numbers did you use? Xx
Hi Justine. The big ones - 34 inches. Glad you like it. Take care, Melanie
Hi, I’ve been making these for my kids for their birthdays and love getting inspiration from yourself! Could you tell me where you source your balloons from as I’m thinking of making them for other people...thanks 😊
Hi Sarah. Glad my tutorials have been helpful. I get my stock from balloon wholesalers. I have accounts with several different companies, so I can't recommend any particular company as they all have their pros and cons. All the very best.
This is really useful thanks. Curious as to why you double stuff the bottom balloons of the base?(geeky fascination) And what tape did you use to stick them together ? Thanks.
Double stuffing makes the base layer more durable. You can use Uglu-Dashes.
😍😍😍
Thank you 😊
Looks so beautiful👑🤍💞✨️
Thank you very much ☺️
Twisting can be easy as long as you have a quality balloons...which is not common in our local place... 😔..
Hi Mary. Very true. Where in the world are you? Melanie
Beautiful!! What color are you using!!??
Thank you. The numbers are rose gold. The round latex balloons are rose gold pink and chrome gold.
What type of balloon do you use for the tying round the numbers are they 160 or 260’s please - mine never seem to start when around enough
Hi Charlotte. I've used 260s here around the numbers. If yours aren't long enough, you might just need to stretch them a bit. Take care, Melanie
what kind of adhesive did you use to glue tape the number 1 to the number 8?
Hi Caitlin. I've now put a list of the products I used (including the adhesive) to make this display in the video description. I hope this helps. Take care, Melanie
Mel, may I ask why you have a double stuffed layer on the base?
Hi Andrew. For added strength and durability.
@@BalloonArtworks Thanks.
You're very welcome. I tend to do this for floor-standing displays.
I have trouble with using glue dots sticking to the foil balloons
Hi Juicyyfruit. There are a lot of factors in play when using glue on balloons. I'm not a big fan of glue dots as the weather here in the UK tends to be cool and so you need to warm up the glue dots by putting them in your pocket or rubbing the dot before you remove the plastic backing. I prefer the Uglu Dashes which I find are less affected by the cold. Also different brands of foil balloons are better than others when it comes to glueing. In my tutorial this week, I've demonstrated techniques you can use to create these large displays without using any glue. Here's the link to my 'no glue' tutorial. I hope this helps. How do I go to the academy place you mentioned - and what does subscribing entail . Thanks
Hi Tracy. Thanks for getting in touch. I'm no longer running the Academy as it became very time-consuming. Feel free to post any questions here on my CZcams channel if you need any help. Melanie
What size balloons do you use to join the numbers together ? Thanks
Hi Calum. These are 260 sized modelling balloons. Take care, Melanie
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
Thank you ☺️
why do you double stuff ?
It helps make the bottom layer a bit sturdier and more durable, so I tend to do this for floor-standing displays.
So what size are those numbers?
The balloons I've used are 34 inches.
@@BalloonArtworks Thank you! I'm learning and I have no clue what size foils to order.
You're very welcome. I hope you have fun making this. Let me know how you get on 🎈
How much would this sell for?
Hi. I work out my prices based on the direct costs of an item plus a percentage contribution to the overheads of my business plus a profit margin. These figures will differ from business to business, so my prices would not necessarily be applicable to another business. I hope this helps.
@@BalloonArtworks thanks you for the information 🎈
You're very welcome 🎈
Where do you buy your balloons from please ?
Hi Victoria. I've got accounts with a few different wholesalers, including Balloon Market, Tiger Feet Direct, BGC. Are you based in the UK? Melanie
@@BalloonArtworks Hello yes I am in the U.K.
If you're doing balloon art as a business, it's worth getting an account with a wholesaler. Some of them also do cash and carry if you're lucky enough to have one of the located in your area. It really helps to be able to just pop along if you get a last minute booking.
@@BalloonArtworks Hi Melanie I just want to use them for my own use. Thank you 👍🏻
A retailer like Morrisons is probably going to be as cost-effective as anywhere ☺
.
Thank you
