Was there what a final Alfie Conn unplayable that day big Tam's blockbuster lifting the cup presented by Princess Alexandra the Rangers end absolutely bouncing fantastic memories 👍🇬🇧
I along with 134000 were there , but I have to say it is not just in my memeory it is with me all the time , albeit we have had some fantastic games wins, but to have a few beers and having to stand up and barely lift your arms to celebrate , due to crowd numbers was the biggest moment of my life, I no longer see my best buddy, but often think of us with the Townhead 50 strong every game . Red Rooster pie & beans
My brother and his mate gave the guy ten Bob each at the turnstile and I got lifted over. Sardines or whit. I was 10 and it seemed to go by in a flash .
I was at this, was very young but I remember it as if it was a few years ago. The noise and atmosphere in Hampden when there was 130,000 mostly standing was just unbelievable. Nothing nowadays comes close to it. Tom Forsyth only scored 1 or maybe 2 goals for Rangers and put this in with his shin. I remember him saying when he'd put it in, he didn't know what to do next!
To echo others, how about the save of the season by John Greig? What about Peter McCloy’s laughable attempt to stop the penalty? Did he not want to get his shorts muddy or something? The last great Scottish cup final, huge crowd and with both teams full of Scots AND competitive in Europe. Long time since that’s been the case.
This was the last of the “ Mega Attendance “ era the following season and the seasons thereafter the crowds were vastly reduced.
Brings back so many memories!! I was there as a 12yr old🇬🇧
Same day SAFC won the english fa cup.
Haway The Lads!❤🤍
5 cracking goals, even the Connelly penalty after Greigs brilliant save and the Forsyth winner, watched this on telly that exact day. Brilliant.
R.I.P. 'Jaws' Forsyth.
I was there in the dust storm at the dancing end of the ground! wonderful game
Brilliant Classic Final Great Commentary l Archie McPherson was the Scottish David Coleman
Archie McPherson at the top of his game. 😂
Best save ever by a Rangers goalie. Big John Greig! I don't think he even got booked.
+Broonzied Truly amazing ahaha. Btw, did the GK just give it away in the penalty? He looks like just let the ball goes in
