      To let you know for the future you should buy your engines from HMotorsonline.com. They sell excellent extremely clean low mile JDM Engines guaranteed to be in great running condition with between 40K-60K on average but no more than 60K & they have a 100% start up warranty. I always change out the clutch and throw in stage 1 street/strip clutch with a very lightweight flywheel and install new wires/plugs/rotor/T-Belt and Water pump/Thermostat and a few gaskets before I drop it in. Last one I installed I pulled the head and installed a new Head-Gasket, cleaned up the pistons and of course sent the head off to be resurfaced before installing the engine because I put a small turbo kits on the motor running 8PSI of boost. Every reputable tuner shop I know uses HMO as their engine supplier, I know the K24A is $899 from them but i'd rather spend a couple hundred more and know i'm getting a good high quality motor as opposed to rolling the dice and going with a cheap motor off of some dude who says the motor should be in good condition. You know what I mean? I suppose i've just burned one too many times lol, you learn real quick once u loose a little bit of money.
      What transmission are using with your swap if u dont mind me asking?

    So far I’m at $11k right now. That’s with a jdm k24a/z3 tranny. Going into a eg hatch. That’s almost everything minus exhaust/cold air intake. Bear in mind I did add prb oil pump/oil cooler/water pump housing/cams/rrc manifold/injectors. Most parts are new too. Going k is definitely not cheap! For my brothers swap (k24a JDM, 1999 Si)it cost roughly 6-7k with like all the k tuned parts etc. He was new to it so he didn’t know what to buy or what was good. But he pushed about 215-235 with bolt ons and such. The only issue he has gone was getting the right axle. Pushed it the once, the axle came loose and hit the oil filter. But after testing a few out later (Hasport, autozone are no good) we finally got it solved.

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the feedback man! You need to use a 02-04 rsx type s engine harness because tsx throttle body uses a electronic throttle body and the ecu will not work with the swap. A kpro ecu is best for the swap but a jdm ecu or a immobilizer bypass l. Highly recommend the kpro for simplicity. Best transmission for the swap is the type s ecu or type r from the jdm dc5. But that route is very expensive. Ep3 5 speed is also a good option

    Right now, my '92 EG hatchback has a d13 engine. But I already had it changed to EFI. My question is, can I use a b20b engine from a CRV and just swap the head to a K20a2 head to make more power and use some of my parts from the d13 efi? Or maybe, might as well just go with a d15b mini me swap? I appreciate the detailed explanation on the video! Keep up the good content. Cheers mate!

      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 3 lety

      Hey man! Thanks for checking it out. Unfortunately b series is only compatible with b series and k can only go with k. The simple eat swap for you would probably be a mini me but with the right parts and money you could definitely do a b series or k series

      Oh! I typed in wrong. I meant if I can use a b20b or a k20 from a CRV and then swap a k20a2 head to make more power and if I do so, will I still be able to use some parts in my d13 efi engine. But I think I got what you're saying bro. With me being a broke ass rn bc of this pandemic, I'll probably go with the cheapest which is the mini me build. You think so? But I was trying to do it all on a budget. And since it might get turboed later I didn’t wanna buy a header that may just be temporary. I’m $3200 into my build including the straight body ES1. • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 4 lety +1

      I’m not 100% on the awd but I’m more than sure it will need some special axles to make it work. Pretty much all the kswaps benefit from having the proper length axles put in so they don’t break or pop out.

      the cv axles of the passenger I get because it is very short and since I go 2 inches ahead I begin to do that many people tell me that when you do the kswap in an Ek they change the subframe but like this video I would like to see a similar one but in an Ek the process and everything that has to be changed to have a 100% Complete swap

    Hey man I have an fg2 I picked up for $3300 that I want to use as a donor car when I find a clean EK .. has 144,xxx miles and everything works great , so you think $3300 is a good deal for a full k20z3 swap ??

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 4 lety

      I think it would be a good deal if you were to part out the fg2, make some money back and then put that into the swap. Why not drive the fg2 they are nice

    • @solidstreetrunz3956
      @solidstreetrunz3956 Před 4 lety

      egchris92 really? So you think that would be an expensive start for a full k20z3 swap ? Also I heard the z3 transmission is a little harder to get in is that true ? And yeah they are nice but the exterior of my fg2 is pretty beat that’s why I got it for so cheap and I’ve always wanted to k swap an ek

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 4 lety

      I think so because you still need a kpro, wire harness, mounts...etc. Keep the swap nut part out or sell the shell and use that money to fund the complete swap

    • @solidstreetrunz3956
      @solidstreetrunz3956 Před 4 lety

      egchris92 okay or I was also thinking maybe I should sell the fg2 and buy a full k20z1 swap from a rsx type s.. do the k20z3 make more power than the z1’s tho ? Or is it as simple as getting an RBC manifold and basically make the same numbers as the z3?
