    Thank GOD & Congratulations to the Super Falcons & Nigeria. We are half way to Paris 2024 Olympics. I pray reverse leg/fixture in South Africa just days away on 9th April favours Nigeria too...
    Thinking of it, what ever happened to Ngozi Okobi? From what I see, she's still very needed in this team.

      Who do you think she could replace? Deborah is excellent while Ayinde is super good and Ucheibe is also impressive.

    I mentioned it here that we have the best midfield in africa now, I hope deborah will be fit for the next match. We miss too many chances, chiwendu was very good in pressing South africa. Who thought Morrocco will beat Zambia today. Our girls really tried but the Coach should start esther in the next match. We were too much for SA. They were making mouth.

      We will still best them at home 2-0 to set the records straight. Our defense is our keeper and our midfield and attack is too good for South Africa and they would crumble even further in the second leg

      Chiwendu is more energetic and aggressive than Esther, so I prefer Chiwendu.

    The girls showed that they were up for the challenge, but they should work on their finishing. Ihezuo was the worst culprit and even though Kanu missed a sitter, having watched it again, I assume that it was because of how Kaylin Swart approached her feet first. Also, I'm happy that Halimatu Ayinde kept a watchful eye on Thembi Kgatlana the same way she did with Lauren James, thereby rendering her (Kgatlana) practically ineffectual. I do hope that Abiodun's injury isn't serious because it would mean that someone would have to replace Ucheibe in defense because Ucheibe will then partner Ayinde in midfield. I loved the defensive discipline shown by the girls and I hope they do it again in the 2nd leg. Good luck to them.

      I totally agree with you. The Super Falcons need to have a well coordinated and clinical finishing in order to comfortably defeat their opponents. The attack should build up with at two or three players upfront so that when the goal keeper blocks the scoring angle, the striker can pass the ball the her team mate. I like the way Ihezuo and Uchenna pressurized the South African defense. Although Ihezuo missed her chances, I still appreciate her runs, at least she won a penalty. I would like the Coach to start them on Tuesday, with Uchenna from the left Oshoala at the center and Ihezuo attacking from the right. This way, the South African Ladies will be forced to play a defensive game which may probably lead to at least, a DRAW. Good luck to us.

      @@johnsonowulo143 You are suggesting Ihezuo, Okoronkwo and Oshoala start the game. What about Ajibade? Wonderful. Thankfully you are not the coach. Ajibade will start, along with two of Ihezuo, Okoronkwo, Kanu and Oshoala. There is no way they are starting with 4 attackers. They are playing away and need bodies in the midfield. At least 3 midfielders. Likely Abiodun, Ayinde and Echegini/Payne. If Abiodun isn't fit, then Ayinde, Echegini and Payne. Ucheibe will remain in defence. She's more experienced than the alternatives on the bench. The coach will not risk starting an inexperienced central defender in such a crucial match

    • @johnsonowulo143
      @johnsonowulo143 Před měsícem

      @@txlonghorn638 You got me wrong. Ajibade have to play throughout the game. unless she is injured or tired. Although I didn't see the line-up but I believe Ajibade and Echegini are attacking midfielders. I might be wrong but I am not suggesting that should be dropped. Instead of dropping Ajibade, it is echegini that will come asa substitute instead.

    Just pack the bus in South Africa and the Super Falcons may be nick a goal or two on the counter attack. We should be careful in our 18-yard box so as not to give away a penalty. We shouldn't let the ball be unnecessarily in our box. The referees might want to even things out. I pray Deborah is fit for the 2nd leg. May God be with Nigeria.

    I don't just understand all these negativity about the super falcons because they didn't score 3 goals is just not providing a good vibe for the team. Yes, they missed some chances but hey, they still won the match. Let celebrate that and pump positive vibe to the team. The south Africans are not persecuting their team even though they lost, they are looking for ways to build their confidence but Nigerians are busy hitting the team with the hammer. This is not wanted, we should learn to appreciate the little wins and hope for a greater performance. This is what will build the confidence of the team not all these irrelevant sidline coaching people are doing. As Nigerians we owe it tothe super falcons to encourage and support them more than tearing them down.

    I think we played our toughest yesterday. CAF deliberately fix the kick-off time to favour South Africa, since our players live outside. Why don't they fix the same time for both legs. They also did it in the Cameroonian match and our girls only managed to hold. South Africa is using CAF in football politics. Too bad!

  • @333AncientGates

    My perspective is that Super Falcons played well but the quality of our play is not good enough. (Please watch Zambia vs Morocco and England vs Sweden). We lack the following ()No cutting edge playmaker, Our players don't run into pocket holes to make themselves available, Our players reaction in defending is still poor and we are not clinical in front of goal. (All these need to be corrected by Randy Waldrum). Furthermore, Super Falcons could have won the game by 3 goals to nil. (We missed some begging chances). However, We won the game, we did not concede, we controlled the tempo of the game and we looked dangerous atimes going forward. Now we need to go to Pretoria to do it the hard way and prove that we have the best female national team in africa. It would not be easy at all (Bayana Bayana would be all over Super Falcons for 100 minutes - like a swarm of Bees + Caf Referees would always play the politics script against us + the crowd would be massive) can we cope and soak up the pressure? Yes i think we can - an early goal by Super Falcons would sooth our nerves - it is very possible to qualify. Good luck Super Falcons.

    I don't know why Waldrum played Chiwendu Ihezuo.She might be doing well for her club and impressing in practice, but she definitely didn't justify the starting role she got. I think it set the tone for most of the game. Other than that, we dominated South Africa. Kudos to the defense and midfield duo of Ayinde and Abiodun, South Africa was neutralized. By the next game, the Falcons start blending. We can beat Banyana Banyana in Pretoria.
