I will give "Oh Yeah" one credit, and it's to the band and not the song. The Joan Jett snippet is itself taken from a Gary Glitter song, and the band realised this when fans pointed it out and decided to donate to women's help organisations as repentence for their lack of knowledge on the snippet's origins. I love everything by Green Day but I honestly forget this song ever fucking existed sometimes. Saviors is a solid album though, easliy my current #1 album of 2024, which isn't saying much.

    • @LaurenStellerSeaEagle

That's so ignorant of them to not know that "Do You Wanna Touch?" is a Gary Glitter song...in 2020??? They seem like guys who have a pretty solid knowledge of music. Glad that they donated money to charity, but it would have been more appropriate to donate to organizations who help survivors of child trafficking and abuse since those were actually Glitter's victims. Also, I hope they didn't turn it into some sort of tax write-off.

I'm always deeply uncomfortable when people talk about any band with more than one record as having never put out anything bad, or being 'perfect'. I struggle to understand how easily pleased you have to be to think everything an artist does is great. Maybe because I am one I'm harder on bad ideas, having had plenty of them myself.

It’s chaotic and disjointed nature is taking a jab at people’s shortened attention spans thanks to social media like TikTok. Coupled with the lyrics condemning consumerism and capitalist culture, it’s a fucking gem of genius to me 👌
