    I'm looking at these boats. I don't currently fish. I want to use it for wildlife photography on lakes and the Missouri River around Kansas City. With your past experience what do you think? I'm leaning toward a Merc 3.5 or so.

      Hi David, it is a real stable boat it will not flip over, the only negative thing I can say about the boat is it's slow about 4 or 5 mph. with the 2.5hp a bigger motor will not give you much more speed maybe 1mph but will help in swift water.3.5 hp. would be the biggest I would go, the new 3hp electric motors would be great for your uses I am thinking about one myself.

      @@mrtilley66 I did see the Torqeedo 1103 motor on a kayak and thought that might be better than an outboard gas motor and quieter...or are you saying there are new more powerful propulsion motors to replace the current built in motors?

      @@Davidatlw I was thinking about the 1103 or E propoulsion both are 3 hp.

      @@mrtilley66 I hadn't heard of the epropulsion before. After warching a video comparing the two...it seems the epropulsion is a better buy. I do like the idea of 'quiet' on the various lakes compared to a gas model. I also don't really know how much the run time would affect me between gas or battery. I don't know of any x10 with one of these mounted so i'll have to do some looking around. Do you have any preference on shaft length? czcams.com/video/cMer4S6phFY/video.html

      @@Davidatlw There are a few on the TT facebook group that have the E-P on the TT and like it ,that is the one I may buy.You have to have the short shaft with the TT.

    I’d like to try squirrel or deer hunting out of it ,or some duck hunting 😄

    That looks plenty fast. I was wondering how well the gas motor pushes it with a suction in the hauls pulling it down

      @mrtilley66  Před 5 lety

      that depends on current flow you are in going against the tide here about 3.5 to 5. calm water I am not sure I only use it if the tide is strong and I am not trolling.

    Wow, nice setup. I have a 12ft Jon boat with the Suzuki 2.5. Love my boat but am really liking your setup. I'm thinking the twin troller would be way better for fishing

      Hi Dale, to me the only thing my jon boat is better at is getting from point A to B. LOL my 2 cents.

    It never occurred to me that water that only looked a little rougher would be a little difficult for the boat/motor. I could see you knew what you were doing when you turned around and went back down river. It's one thing to deal with the occasional wake, they pass in a few seconds, but all that increasingly roiled water with faster & faster current could get gnarly pretty quick.

      Hi J Tee, that is a bad spot two fishermen died there last year,it will push my 16 ft. dura craft with 25 hp motor around that little spot has killed a lot of people my hobie can't go through there either.

    In your opinion could the twin troller handle a little bigger outboard? Thanks!

    • @mrtilley66
      @mrtilley66  Před 5 lety

      Hi Margie , there are some owners that put a 3.5 hp and said it works fine, although you want get any more speed due to the inhull motors.

      Rick INSC Thanks! I fish mainly in the altamaha river. I think with the current it would probably take to long getting around. I love the little boat if it just had a little more power.
