Best rock band on the planet. Watch BLACK HOLE live and you'll really hear Akane playing like crazy, no solo, but great support playing. It's probably their fastest song too.

This is such a fun live performance from Band-Maid! Akane's drum solo followed by Kanami's guitar solo, so good! A couple more fun bands to react to is The Warning, a three sister rock group from Mexico and Rolling Quartz, a all girl rock band from S. Korea, worth a look!

There's so much to love here, such as Akane's Muppet Animal drum solo while beaming from ear to ear and her response to Saiki and MISA trying to (unsuccessfully) throw her off her beat. But my favorite moment is at 3:47, when Miku gives Kanami the side-eye, while Kanami is silently challenging her to not screw up the lyrics, which she apparently did in a previous gig. 😆

Gen X thanks for your reaction to Band-Maid’s Freedom. The aMAIDzing thing about this band is their musicianship and their genuine friendship with each other. Their joy, like their music, is infectious (no antidote needed). I make two suggestions: Band-Maid Catharsis acoustic Live performance and Rush Tom Sawyer Live - whether you react to them, or not, I leave to you. But I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.

I'm glad you're liking the Maids. I agree with you. You absolutely need to get headphones, and then go back and listen to these songs again. There are so many cool details in their music it's hard to take it all in with one listen, even with headphones. It may blow your mind a second time. Enjoy the ride. I know I have.

I feel that Akane and MISA are the most intuitively brilliant "rhythm section" is rock. As a drummer, would you be gobsmacked when Jimmy Page asks to come backstage after a show and meet you specifically. That happened to Akane. She thought she was being pranked until Page showed, shook her hand, and had a picture taken with her. Afterward, he favorably compared Akane to John Bonham. Hi praise indeed for a rock drummer.
