Original music by Brad Martin - Zábava
Content, production values, original music composed by Brad himself....this is the best hobby channel on youtube by far. Please like, share and let him know how great he's doing!!
Awe shucks, thanks Jim!
He is the best 👌
I grew up in lansingburgh! The family who owned that store still lives in the area
Brad, I have been watching your videos for a long time and I've enjoyed every one. The shots you take of the flora, streams and mushrooms are just so amazing. I always feel that I'm right with you on an exciting journey. I just want to say THANK YOU for the effort you put in to entertaining me and all of your subs. You take me out of my home office chair and into the depths of the forrest where a different set of rules apply.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Chris! Glad to hear you enjoy them!!
Chris Mather p
Brad I love all your videos , I love th music and
Watching all the thing you find Please keep on doing what you do.
This is fantastic Brad! Nothing like trying to confirm a story. Once at an old home site I was told a story about how a lady used to make sandwiches and give them to civil war soldiers next to a large boulder. (I was skeptical naturally) not far away I found an eagle cuff button!
Thanks again JD, rumors have to start somehow!
I don’t metal detect, but always enjoy your postings. Love your low key personality and demeanor. Always look forward to your next adventure
Thanks so much, Arthur!
“Bigfoot wears snowshoes . . . Everyone knows that.” Just another example of a Vermonter’s dry wit😊
That round thing that swivels, is an antique "Victorian style spinning Swivel jewelry Fob". A lot of them had lockets in them, some had compasses, and some just had different jewelry pieces in them, like decorative stones and things. Very cool find. I hope you have made it back up there now that the ground is digable.
Thanks, Calvin!
@@GMMD, I figured you may have already known that, but I commented anyway just in case others were looking to see if anyone posted what it was. So I added a few of the search words that will bring them up if anyone goes searching for them. I think the one you found was most likely one that a jeweler or someone made sorta like a one-off, because you don't find them exactly like that one. A lot of those spinning fobs are made from gold, and you can find at least a couple of them that are exactly the same.
Might also have held a lens, like a monocle.
@@josephgalarneau7177 thats what i thought, would have been mounted to a adjustable arm and had a magnifieing lens in it
Some also held a wax seal.
A friend of mine used to metal detect along the Oregon trail. Said he fought lost of furniture hardware because the pioneers had to lighten their wagons to get through the mountains.
Brad you are a hoot!!! I am always combing the trees for sasquatch haaa haaa and here you are finding his prints!
Just in case you do not know this, they do not walk as we do, leaving our left foot print and then right foot print in front of the other in staggered steps...but one print directly in front of the other as the ones you showed us...keep your head on a swivel and stay frosty!!!
The folded lead you have found is a bag seal, either animal feed, or a bag of flour/sugar etc. The cloth bag would be drawn closed with a string and the lead seal would be clamped onto the closed bag/string to seal it shut.
One thing I really miss from your videos are the nice photos of things you find after you cleaned them up. Excellent video as always though!
Awh yeah
So glad you posted an adventure.
Great finds!
Thank you for taking me along.
Blessings
Concerning the brass chain and clip. My grandfather had one exactly like the one you found. He used it to carry his Keys on. It clipped to his belt or sometimes over his pants waistband if he had suspenders on. What a wonderful find that was. And very nostalgic for me. Awesome Video. Keep up the good work.
That's great to hear, thanks for watching!
Lansingburgh NY is now part of Troy. Just did a quick search. Apparently, both Herman Melville and Vermont’s own President Chester Arthur lived there for a time.
Your channel is a blast for both a nature and history buff!
Awesome videography, insanely beautiful music,
cool relics. Another home run. Thanks Brad.
As usual, you make our adventures exciting and the background music is perfect. It lends the touch needed to polish the extraordinary trek. that pizzazz to complete our day! Thanks!
Flashback!!!! Brad said, "Hey folks" lol
Thank you, Brad. So peaceful in the woods.
Glad you enjoyed it, Terry!
Your videos are always beautiful. Then it occurred to me that maybe it is not just the scenery. Your video and editing skills are superb. Some of the scenes are filmed as good or better than some movies, and your background music is always just right. Not annoying like some. If you are your own cameraman, excellent job. Great job.
Spot on analysis tee .
Brad has skills. Right on about music in a lot of detecting vids. Wish creators would tone down music if not eliminate all together
Thanks so much, Teena!
Knowing that Brad creates his own music makes me enjoy his channel even more. Brad's music always contributes to creating a mood which certainly can't be said of most channels that include background music. I also like the relaxed way Brad talks to the viewers while scouting out his surroundings. It helps me to feel like we're there with you as it would be unnatural to look into the camera everytime you speak.
Ross Macintosh brads vids are perfect mix.
Some really good creators that make a perfectly good vid then throw in some crazy ass music rendering them unwatchable
Sasquatch also has like a 5 to 6 ft. stride length. Been watching for them while out snowmobiling. 😉
Great video Brad, enjoyed the tag along with you. Keep on digging in the free world.
Thanks Jon!
Lansingburgh was a village in NY that was incorporated into the city of Troy, NY.
Brad, so great to have you back.Tell the snow to hurry up and melt! You're the best.
Great to see you out and about ! Looking forward to spring and more videos !
Wow.. Early token.. issued in 1835. Nice find!!! I have a great article about that token from the NY Times 1898..and they list is rare then!!
Nice discoveries. I like the way you engage your viewers and make us feel we're right there with you.
The pendant is an awesome find, as is the chain! Definitely worth a closer look in the spring! Thanks, Brad, for another beautiful video!
I heard that if a bear hoots in just the right tone a tree will explode😂🐻🌳 Well done...thanks for the adventure!
Hahaha
Come on, Spring. I can't wait until you go back, soon real soon
all of my detectings are also done in the woods. Yes, I also enjoy the weather, trees, and other environmental structures. I stand there and just look at the trees.
How wonderful! Some different things found with clear information.
I love the hard times tokens. So much information about real people living at the time.
Darn bigfoot obviously went in there ahead of you and took all the jewels.....
Thanks for sharing 🍺
Haha he's always one step ahead
Very nice. Cold day of digging for sure but I enjoyed it sitting here in my recliner all cozy and warm. You are a dedicated digger for sure..
Brad..love the historic focus of your channel..the quiet and thoughtful presentation..great video..You will be going back soon..
So glad to hear that, thanks!
Always enjoy going along with you on your metal detecting adventures. Can't wait until you return to this site. It should yield much more.
Great video and finds! Can't wait to see what you find up there in the spring!
Another great video Brad! Thanks for braving the cold in order to take us all on an adventure. Hope it warms up for you soon! 👍
Another great video Brad! Always love the scenery and commentary😊! Can't wait to see what comes out of the ground when you go back there! Hope it's real soon! Good luck! Thanks for braving the cold yet again and taking us with you!!!
Lansingburg New York, became part of Troy in 1900. Incorporated in 1771 by Abraham Jacob Lansing, it is approximately 20 miles west of the state lines, where Vermont and Massachusetts connect. About 15 miles north of Albany.
The round brass object on a swivel reminds me of an antique jewelers magnifying glass.
Woo hoo the ground is thawing!! Cant wait til you go back to this site. What a great video. You never disappoint. 🌞👍
That swivel pendant may have held a magnifying glass.
I had a pendent like that when I was a young man and it contained a coin in the circle in which you could flip it back and forth "for whatever" reason I don't really know and you could spin it a little bit.
Yes like an antique lorgnette!
Big E. thats what i thought too
It's a Time Turner, obviously.
Here's hoping Spring finds you soon! Sending warm thoughts your way. Thanks for the adventure and hope to see you back at this location so you can find some gold that is surely there! HH
you defiantly have to go back on the spring! That pendant was beautiful!
How exciting is this permissible. I can't wait for you to return. Another awesome video. Thanks.
Great spot !!! Can’t wait to see what else you find there! Good luck on your next trip out!!!
Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing another great hunt and awesome finds. Take care.
I believe your onto something Brad. One aspect of detecting is the investigation. Rumors sometimes work out very well. Good luck on your next trek out there!
Exciting like always. Great finds and I can't wait for your return back to that spot. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Just found your videos, Brad, I really enjoy them and love how you present them X
Thanks for taking us along but now I feel chilled to the bone! Can't wait to follow you back there , it does look promising. Your intro music sounded a bit Celtic.♡
Hooky chain thing ... lol, that's how I describe things!! Great video ... again. Thanks!!
Congratulations on your finds Brad always look forward to your videos. Until next time HH&GL *Chris*
Especially loved the music in this one - didn't realize it was original! Awesome!!
Glad to hear it, Erin!
I'm a retired goldsmith / gemologist. The term Jeweler usually refers to a retailer of gold & silver jewellery, flatware, watches, clocks and fine china. The people that actually made the gold and silver items were refereed to as smith, gold and silver. These smiths would wholesale their wares to the jewelers who had a retail store. The chain you found, the catches, look too flimsy to be supporting a watch that was a valuable item back in those days. The little gimbeled devise looks to me to be a case for a compass, tiny photos were rare in those times. The sheet lead look like something a miner would use in older times. They would use mercury to leech gold from rocks then put the mercury amalgam into sheet lead and toss it into a fire to burn off leaving behind a button of relatively pure gold. Cheers, Billy in Canada
Thanks for all the great info, Billy!
Good hunt Brad. Can’t wait for spring and your return trip to this place! Good luck buddy
Dear Brad, I appreciate your high-quality videos. The beautiful photography is amazing! I especially Love the Music ! Happy hunting
Thanks a lot, Renata!
Great to have your detecting video's back. Love it. Best of luck on your hunts.
Thanks Steve!
I have a feeling that this is going to be a great site to hunt after the thaw. Looking forward to it. Thanks for another enjoyable vid Brad :)))
Interesting pieces. That will be a great hunt this Spring.
KEEP MAKING FILMS LIKE U DO THEY ARE THE BEST
Just discovered your channel last week☺️ Been binge watching ever since. Loving the history, scenery and down to earth sharing of your adventures. Thanks so much! A new subby from South Australia 😊
Two years later and I just discovered this site and am binging also. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Liked the hard times token and the lesson about it. Liked the pendant in great condition. Thanks
Your camera placements for B-Roll are awesome and fit in every instance. You're a treasure hunter yes, but you are first and foremost a great story teller too!
Thanks so much, Jim!
Hello from Down Under!!Brad I have really enjoyed your videos. Your laugh is infectious. Can't imagine cold like you have. Keep warm and safe.
Congratulations looking forward to the return to this site
Nice finds. That spot definitely has great potential. Can’t wait to see what you find when you go back.
Hay Brad... Great finds my friend.. In the snow!!!! Wow!!!!!!! Love that hard time token. Hang in there my friend.. Springs comin!!! Keith (In Florida)
Yes in spring,I can't imagine being able to dig at all in winter....
always great photos and great finds I really like your vids, thanks for taking me along.
Thanks for coming along, Philip!
Nice way to kick cabin fever! We don't get the winters like you do here in Oregon, but we don't get the targets like you do either, good luck on the return trip and I'm glad I'm not the only one that appreciates your music.
Good to see you again. Great music and production as always. Weather has changed for us all. Time to go back. Maybe tomorrow. Onwards and Upwards!!
Haha thanks so much!
Another great video Brad, can’t wait till you go back and find all the gold!
Hi Brad, such a cool adventure and as you said, it's looking more and more likely it could have been a jewellers workshop. One place you definitely have to return to in the late Spring early Summer for sure. A cool video, thanks for sharing. x
I have to tell you I am not a metal detectorist I love to pan for gold. I came across your channel last year and your video's are so well done and awesome. I love to watch and cannot wait till you dig up what ever is making your detector beep. Seeing the old buttons and coins and spoons and buckles is so terrific I love the old stuff. Keep up the the wonderful video's and I look forward to your next one.
Thanks for watching!
Your videos are always done so well. It is always a pleasure to see your finds and your always cool treasures.
Thanks Chloe!
Possibly jeweler's supplies were from New York and a traveler went to get the supplies or tools or someone delivered along their supply trade route from NY.
Great videos am watching every episode in Dubai while on vacation then back to Afghanistan ..cant wait to get back to civilization one day so I can enjoy your videos and even try this out myself
Having been in the Vermont Woods in subzero temperatures, there are times that it sounded like a war zone with the cracking, popping and sounds of exploding trees. Well Brad, I would love to accompany you to the land owner's home with your finds. You have dated the site and almost validated the landowners inherited family stories. The General Store Token is the find of the day ! It would have been a few days travel to and from Lansingburg, NY with a crossing of the Hudson River. Brad ! That was a superb historical investigation of a familie's history. Thank You again for sharing my friend :-))
Thanks so much, Friend!
I can’t stop watching your vids now. My dad and I are going to start detecting. Your videos are our inspiration.
Glad to hear it, Chris!
We are praying for a early spring lol. I live up in the Ireland county area and have a 1800’s farm house property to metal detect once ground is thawed out. There’s about 600 acres to comb through.
Good video Brad nice finds. No snow in Louisiana but so much rain that most of my good spots are under water.
Great finds. Love the hard time token.
Thanks for sharing
I am sure when you return there in warmer weather we will really enjoy that video even more.
Troy new york. My hometown. The north part of the city is know as Lansingburgh. Nice find Brad.
Can't wait for bigfoot hunter... I mean treasure hunter finds ruins of jeweler part two! Nice finds. Thanks Brad.
Nice Token...... That's a bit of a pricey token too, it seems !!! (Not that that really matters) But you just found some really old, cool and new... You find old coppers all the time which is way cool but familiar. Something new like this is what gets me going...
Love your videos Brad. Soft spoken, lots of historical finds, and pretty entertaining with a good sense of humor. Keep on with the awesome finds and def go back in a few weeks!
By the way. You can visit your friends over the line in Mass. Our snow is long gone!
Thanks for the kind words, Wendy!
That was so intetesting. Tyfs
You are truly hard core. Worth the wait after the teaser. Sounds like some possible great finds now that the ground is thawing.
My first thought was, "What is a jeweler doing out in the middle nowhere" Can't be a lot of customers out there.
Right on bro. I know you've probably heard a million times comments on your music, but the music is top notch! I'm a guitarist, not professional, but enough to know good stuff when I hear it. The attitude of your music matches perfectly the videos you make. The best metal detecting show on CZcams according to my opinion lol
I really appreciate that Chad, thanks a lot!
Nice digs and hopefully you head back there and sweep the coil again!
I love the countryside you find better than the treasures at times. I lived in Calumet Michigan way out from the little town there at Calumet Air Force Base. A very remote radar sight. On one other town was there. It was right on the tip of the UP and called Copper Harbor due to the copper mines that used to be there. A beautiful piece of God's creation and the hotel and homes there were long structures. The best German food outside of Germany was a little place right on the shore of Lake Superior. I loved it there except for the winters. Our horse turned into an igloo. A 2 and 3 year olds went plum crazy not being able to play outside. So we came back to warmer climes. For Fisher, N Carolina. Also a remote radar sight. It is now a military maintained vacation spot. Right across the road is the ocean. But also the real civil war Fort Fisher ruins are also there. I promise I felt ghost. I think both of those places would be great to go metal detecting. Thare is a museum at Fort Fisher that is very interesting. Anyway I love watching your find things. You make it exciting. My late husband was a 20 year Air Force Veteran and worked in Law Enforcement in Nashville after and was 1 month to retirement and had a heart attack. He was a true patriot.
Almost time for a video every Friday! :) thanks bud always nice to watch!
Almost!!
Gotta love that coin, looks like it was struck yesterday
they would sometimes put coins in that necklace holder if it was important. Also Lansingburgh NY is right to the west of Green Mountain State Park. They came a good distance.
I always enjoy your videos. I started detecting about a year ago and that’s when I started watching. Of all the “big guys” your the favorite!!
Haha glad to hear it, Rowan!
