      75 in a 55, or 90 in a 70 is reckless and deliberate behavior.
Yes, I ride, an owner of a 1700cc, and yes, doing 60 in a 55 or doing 75 in a 70 zone gets boring, and I'll admit I've done 90-100 for stretches in my local 70 zones, but the rules are in place for reasons. And no one can't deny though riding fast is a rush on a motorcycle, but it does increase the danger for oneself and everyone in the vicinity.

My ex was in a club for quite a few years. They all looked tough and mean, but this group was all sober.
No drinking, no drugs, none of that. Many of them used to ride with other gangs but when they got sober, they didn't want to hang with them any longer.
That didn't mean they were going to totally change their lifestyle. They still love riding. So they formed their own club.
They have several yearly camping trips where they bring family with them, as well as whatever rides they decide to support.
There were actually quite a few very religious guys, with crosses and stuff about Jesus on their gear.
Not all bikers are scary or dangerous, despite what Hollywood wants you to think.
Yes, there are some who are, but don't judge someone by how they look. Get to know who they are before you pass judgement.

The trooper knows this but didn’t throw them in jail like some departments might do to avoid the risk of them being no-shows.

I get it that it is a "victimless" crime but it is not fair to law abiding citizens that do the right and lawful thing and pay their registration dues on time. We all share the road and each of us have a responsibility to pay for it upkeep. If you can't afford the registration on the vehicle don't buy or ride the vehicle. Simple as that.

    • @BigBadJohn

It most definitely is. A bike an rider would need to travel around 185mph to equal the kinetic energy of the troopers car has at 75mph. Basically the troopers vehicle at 111mph has 7.5 times more destructive power than the bike and rider does at 94mph.

If they weren't doing the speed he said they doing they should come back to the court date. In court they Can tell the traffic judge they weren't doing the 94 moh there is five different motorcycles and I'm sure they have all compared their speed when they ride together. They probably have C B radios to communicate when they are riding together. Additionally they can request to see when the last time the highway patrol speed monitor instrument was checked for calibration. Additionally if the roadway was crowded they can further challenge the accuracy of the speed checking device. Also was the highway patrol vehicle stopped when he claimed that the motorcycles were driving down the road. If the highway patrol vehicle was being driven when the motorcycles were alleged to be going 94 mph then there is definitely some chances the motorcycle riders can create doubt if they choose to appear in court. However for the motorcycle with expired registration there isn't any good defense for that?

What is the issue with people who are operating any type of motor vehicle on the highways that can’t immediately present current drivers licenses, registration, and proof of insurance? These are basic necessities that are required by law to have and present upon request by law enforcement. You should always make sure that these items are available to present at anytime and immediately before driving. It is so irresponsible that people either don’t have these items or have to search the entire vehicle just to find them. These items should be within arms reach and together at all times and a separate ticket should be written to anyone who cannot present them immediately upon request. It’s just basic common sense people. 🙄

Just to pass the cars? Those are important to determine whether he would have given them a break or not. As far as the long expired tags, well, it doesn't cost much to renew them so there's no true excuse for that because the officers/courts will look at is as them having the money to take a trip to another state but not to renew their tags.
