- Courtney talks ultralight flying in her Quicksilver MXL-2. Learn how to be a better ultralight pilot.

Note: A LEGAL ultralight is limited to 1 seat and requires no pilot certificate to fly. A 2-seat "ultralight" is, in fact, a Light Sport Airplane and requires a pilot certificate to fly. There is no such thing as a "legal 2-seat ultralight."

Loved the ride along!
Thank you.
That was wonderful! I love the camera angles
Really feels like we're right there with you!👍
Glad you enjoyed it
You rock !! This was so much fun to watch 😊😊thank you for another great video 😊😊
Thank you.
Enjoyed the footage.Thank you.
You're welcome!
Years back I rebuilt a quicksilve that someone gave me. It came with 2 engines that were not running. I built one good engine out of the 2. Loved flying it.
Thanks for commenting!
I have been flying a single-place Quick that I built in 2005. I just ordered a 2-place strut braced Quick that should be delivered this month. I started watching your channel about 2 months ago. Keep them coming. I don't fly in the cold months, but you have inspired me. Not sure if the newly seeded grass strip @ 3R8 in Indiana will be user friendly.
I'm glad I inspired you. It's what I'm here for! Good luck with the new Quicksilver!
Wow…Courtney! I love your videos!! They are incredible! They give a great perspective of what it looks like from the pilot’s point of view!! Having only flown general aviation aircraft…….it tells me….
I couldn’t jump into a QuickSilver and just go!! I would need transition training!! 🤔. Thank you!!
You're welcome! And yes, transition training is urged! Good luck!
Winter flying in open ultralights is great fun. I love your power off final at a stabilized approach angle that will scare the $H!T out of any rational GA pilot! I logged 21 flights in December in my Quicksilver MX from my back yard strip at 5050' MSL and DA down below 3000'. This new year I have only been able to get HIGH 3 times with temperatures down to -31F Tuesday morning and the wind chill flying would be a bit too brisk -71F. It would be interesting to take off from 5050' with the DA at 400' below sea level.
Whoa, that's cold! And yes, some GA pilots will scream on the way down! ;)
Great video Courtney 😊 .I'm a new subscriber, greetings from Spain. I'm just getting my ultralight license here in my country.
Good luck and thank you!
Might be chilly, but can't beat the density altitude gains in wintertime.
You are correct! Climbing like a rocket is a wintertime thing!
Can you tell us more about your phone tether and case?
I don't have a case. It's a Kyocera rugged phone with a means to attach a small tether. I then use a lanyard to attach that to the airframe or my jacket.
Thanks for wearing a helmet .
You're welcome.
