It's funny, Sinatra hated Strangers in the Night, didn't want to record it, but most of the famous rockers at the time loved it, Clapton even used some of it in the solo here.

@@JohnnieO32most definitely, the first phrase of solo is indeed the phrase “blue moon” from, well, “blue moon”

This music I have heard as first from Jimmy Hendrix playin at a higher rate. On Jimmyś CD it was rightly written the origin, namely Eric Clapton. Most beginers start with playing the greats later to become even greater. Best regard, a nice playing. Paul,69

Incroyable tuto. Fabuleux, avec les ralentis. Inespéré de trouver une telle leçon sur un solo aussi complexe que légendaire. Un immense merci.

Yeah you definitely captured the feeling of that legendary riff! Spot on like Clapton
Fun fact. Jack Bruce wrote music for this day after Jimi sat in with Cream at Polytechnic 2 weeks (less) after arriving in London and formExperience. He was inspired by Hendrixea Killing Floor!

You have navigated the same road Clapton took with this solo, you even managed to include those characteristic little pieces of syntax he used on the studio recording, this is what stood out to me as a young fella hearing it for the 1st time in 67/8, the singing quality. Great work.

Thank you for this lesson @Guillaume Vrac. I am playing this onstage in a few weeks and I have learnt all the note for note translations on the internet, some more accurate than others ... but this version has opened up a little more flair and groove for me playing along !

Outstanding and accurate. Especially to get "that" tone on your Strat; something Eric hasn't done since he made the switch (really frustrates me). I always hoped he would have grabbed an SG, Les Paul, or 335 for this tune, let alone the Cream reunion. But again, YOU'RE nailing it on what looks like a late 60s-70s Strat . I don't know why Eric made HIS Strat Cream renditions so "stringy" sounding vs his classic thick woman tone from Cream. It's always been a head sctratcher for me and something I would ask him in person if I ever met him.
In fact, I am a Texan and have tickets for my wife and me to see him this month (5/22) in Berlin, but I'm going to sell the tickets.
