This is what we started our printing business with. At the time it was 9k and paid for itself in 4 months! Thought it was fast at the time lol đ doing a speed test with 3â circles compared to the latex itâs 24 times slower. It makes money! A plus is that it will print 3 times better than the latex.
Def agree now, i guess how u use it determines the sucess. I am enjoying this printer for sure
How you get your sales? I know you can make stickers, decals, HTV etc but I tried to sell that on Etsy and I am not getting a lot of sales, any advice is appreciated.
What did you sell with it ?
Just got my bn-20aâŠ. Still waiting for my heat press to show up.
Great machine. Reallly enjoy having it. Prints great. Goodluck toya!
I have this. I have had it for a year and just got it running. Do not throw anything away. I threw away foam print cartridges thinking it was disposable. That said, it is for a side gig/hobby. Mostly trying to figure out what I will do to make sure it pays for itself.
I have a pretty busy sticker shop where I print and cut sticker sheets from removable matte paper. I have 8 cameo 4 machines. I am now looking at one of these. No idea where to start lol. Don't know where to buy rolls of similar paper. Program, etc.
Hi guys, for those who have had success with this machine. How you get your sales? I know you can make stickers, decals, HTV etc but I tried to sell that on Etsy and I am not getting a lot of sales, any advice is appreciated.
Ye etsy is not as easy as people say for sure. For myself, i belong to a lot of facebook groups and show off there not sale ads, but "look what i made" posts then they message me to buy, since bunch of groups dont like advertising. Then i built a customer base of repeat buyers.
Iâm a stay at home mom that sells stickers. Iâve mostly been doing it locally but recently started selling on FB and etsy with some success, this would definitely be an upgrade from my cricut and silhouette but I donât know if its the right machine for me, or if there is something similar but better out there
there is always something better out there, what it comes down to is what will work with your situation. how much space do you have and budget etc. the bn20 or any ecosol or latex printer will be a huge step up for you. just stay way from larger inkjet machines to make stickers. this way you can do more with it. good to see you are doing well enough to upgrade!
Merry Christmas, Ken!
Merry christmas mike!!
I have the LX610 as well, I know what you mean. I donât have desktop room for the BN20. But Iâm making room for a wide format. It will probably be an HP Latex
good choice. because if i still had the lx610 i wouldn't need this bn20. i was going to get another lx610 before this but was offered a opportunity i couldn't pass up for this. your latex will be a workhorse for you!
â@Da Print House why if you have the label printed lx610 would you not need the bn20? I am looking to purchase a printer for stickers would you recommend the hp latex 115 or bn20 or this lx610?
Merry Xmas KEN see you soon your videos are great
Merry christmas!
i wanted to get me a printer for a long time...i got me a gerber real cheap wich i never really used... i still order my eco solvent 1x1m sheets for around 60euro... they are not as good color as gerber but still good...
transparent , white, cmyk and cut and laminated... after looking a ton of printers i th ink for only 2x1m a month ordering is probaly the best solution...
Gerber was always out of my price range through the years for sure.
@@DaPrintHouse gerber is alot cheaper then the roland bn20 for example... u can get a used gerber for 500 bucks if u keep ur eyes open.. but the software is a big problem... omega is expensive and flexi or signlab isnt working so good... gerber is old but its so simple made its easy to repair and hard to destroy :D:D if u make decals take a lookt at a gerber im sure u will like it the colors are the best colors u can get printed... they are better then UV on white vinyl and they are always the same dont matter what vinyl!
also a summa DC is a good machine... thermo printers dont make any problems when u have them standing around for years.. the print head cant dry out...
@@teabagNBG those machines were a big part of sticker industries, the film would be pricey tho eh?
@@teabagNBG vey true!!!

Hi, is the BN 20 is a good choice for produce RC racing car decals ? Are they resist to fuel attack ? Many thx
For sure, but I would lam them to resist cleaning chemicals for bodies
Hey âso I'm getting the bn 20 a, what do you think about getting a graphtec cutter to go along with it? Is the cutting really that slow on the bn20? Thx
terrible slow, ill show a video if this, subscribe and not the notification bell to get the update when i upload the video
@@DaPrintHouse Hey thanks for the reply, I went for it! Running the bn20a)) I'm curious what media people are using when the sticker seems to be stiffer? I'm using the 3M ij35 10, to get a stiffer sticker is it laminated? Cheers Alex
@@AskPrintShop ye that is one thing with ecosol decals. They can be flimsy depending on the coverage, def try to stay at 3.4mil or above. I print the same decals on same material on my latex printer and they are stiffer. So its def an ecosol trait. Lamming decals def solves that but again depends if u need to with the coverage of print.
Is that the bn-20 or bn-20a? Roland says the âaâ has a âhigh-speedâ print mode so I was curious how that compared. Great video and info
Ye this is non A
The high speed print on the A model will give you a lower resolution running it fast.
@@runninwitjesus ok so its the same as mine or any non 'a" version the draft 1& 2 does bi directional printing @1440x720 or 720x720 etc which goes faster, for vector it prints well still i never use the slow one anyways lays to thick whichever profile i use. does the head actually swing faster you think?
Thanks for the more detailed understanding Da Print House. Iâm new to the BN20. Iâm about 2 months in now and love it so far. I look forward to more videos you post to learn more. Thanks for sharing
@@runninwitjesus any printer will
My colors are not coming out very bright, what would you suggest I do?
you can send me the artwork and i can test for you, usually choosing a different profile or bad artwork makes a world of diference
Maybe this is gonna be the dumbest question but if i want to print something that has white for example lets say i print a homero simpson sticker, i need to buy the full white ink set right or i can make a white vinyl layer and combine them to save some cost?
Never dumb, u just print on the white vinyl media and cut it out
I have a Mac I don't own a pc can this printer work with a Mac I have photoshop and illustrator. im currently in subimation with the epson sure color f750 but im looking to get printer to get into htv and stickers for my packages
When i searched says versaworks works with mac and bn20 drivers but i would make sure with a salesman. Great little machine. I plan to do a bunch of htv
@@DaPrintHouse thanks
What machine is the next step up for a commercial sticker business?
well if u like ecosol like this and get crisp prints go with a sub $10k roland, if you want to pump out banners etc go with hp latex,
Do you have a lamination recommendation for someone using a bn-20?
well i would only laminate if you are doing outside signs, and would match the lamination brand to the vinyl u print on
Great timing. Hey, DPH! Awesome videos. Been studying your content searching for the "right" machine for our mobile Sticker Business.
Could you please recommend machines to you'd use for Vinyl Sticker production of 200 Stickers at 200 quantity each... restocking every month or so? Awaiting your response!
Thx for the comments, this one for sure would work for you. Its slower when highest setting but doesnt always need highest setting 720x720 still prints good half the time of 1400. Also for mobile setup would think having a built in cutter would work better then lugging around more equipment. In a faster production environment having 2nd cutter def helps.
@@DaPrintHouse So 100% buy the Roland for on-the-road production? Or do you have something else in mind?
Regardless of price point, we want to invest in the right stuff from the start.
@@DaPrintHouse I'm currently drooling over this, but what do you think the price point of this is? czcams.com/video/RoTbdgnq9Oc/video.html
@@antjamnow1286 well this is a vinyl printer/cutter. Thats a label printer 2 totally diferent purposes. But that doesnt look to be easily mobile lol i do love that machine tho. I use a epson c6500 for label printing
@@DaPrintHouse I understand now. I'm new to this business field, but eager to get started with the right equipment.
Could you assist me in searching for the right tool(s) for the job?
I want to print on vinyl sticker material, laminate, then insert into a cutter and stockpile the prints.
I want to print coulored stickers on transparent foil with some silver metalic field. As far as I understand I need white to print under the coloured fields to make coulors strong and non transparent and need the 5th cartridge for silver. But I'm wondering how to print white than??
Ye you can print on foil and if u need the white base u would need the bn20 with white option. It would print a base spot color then your other colors will be on top of the white spot color
@@DaPrintHouse Thanks for your support!
So I can't do both (white background + colours AND silver metalic characters) on transparent foil, instead using a transparent foil I have to use a white vinyl and the silver ink?
@@kraemitkraemit1988 ye u have to chose either white or metalic version of bn20. U can also print on a metalic vinyl that could get u what you need
@@DaPrintHouse Thanks for your support!
I think it is not possble to easy change a cartridge? Let's say I haave a BN-20 using 5 cartridges using 2x margenta and I want to switch one of this to silver. This will not work, because tubes and printerhead need to be cleaned? Or is the modus to do this by cleaning or printing the 'old' colour out? Thanks again!
@@kraemitkraemit1988 unfortunately once u choose a color for the 5th cartridge it can no longer go to another color. that is what roland says anyways.
I noticed you mentioned drying time. On average, what kind of drying time would you recommend for a color sticker on white vinyl before laminating and cutting? Specifically on the Roland BN-20.
They say several hours before laminating, typically most sit overnight, but depending on your climate controlled area i have lam after an hour. U can test etc
How long do the ink cartridges last?
from what i can guess in terms of modest prints, you can go through about 40ft of roll (max width). that's about 2 normal 20ft rolls of material on designs that don't hog too much of one color. don't forget to take inflation into account. people are selling their designs for way too little and complain they can't make a profit. a t-shirt back in 2006 = $20 dollars.. don't be afraid to charge $30 for a printed shirt or $10 for an 8.5x11 sheet of vinyl stickers. on an unrelated note, plushies that you'd figure should normally cost $10 are selling for $50 on etsy and they ARE selling. that should tell the rest of us something.. up the prices on your wares folks, don't be shy about it either.
Hello, I appreciate ur video and the color palette u put. I am having trouble with my printâs pixelated. I use photoshop and save it cymk, when I print on my dye inkjet printer itâs great but when I print on Roland itâs pixelated. Do u think itâs the humidity in room or is there something I have to do regarding saving it? Thank u for ur help.
Which profiles are u using? I pri ted mo a tly 720x720
Whats a good type of media to use for this printer in order to make good stickers? That are not thin and flimsy
Look for 3.5mil also air release vinyl will be more flimsy
what static cling material can you recomend?
Pretty much any, I'll look to see what mine is when I get home
@@DaPrintHouse did you take a look? I ordered the bn-20a =D just seeking out materials to try out once I get the printer
and any idea what canvas material is good for framing on walls or just hanging?
getting the bn-20a.. doing more than stickers though. shirts for sure. i currently use a wf-7610 with a craft robo pro plotter. it's not happening.. firstly, inkjet sticker paper is garbage. it prints stationary and nothing more. laminating the stickers for a more permanent application (trendy teens stick'em on laptops or phone cases), is a bit too expensive and just a waste of time. inkjet heat transfer for shirts is also a big no-no these days, especially if an organization wants a more permanent solution. i've cut vinyl already with my crp, works really well, but had to avoid advertising graphics because 3G opaque is garbage, as is blue grid (ironall). sublimation is a huge hassle, limited media (even subli sticker are a headache that require too many steps). laser is limited in print space, i tend to do 13x19s. big bonus with bn-20 is poster printing.
How in the hell is sublimation a hassle ? Youâre rambling on
When making car decals how long do you have to wait for the drying?
I would let sit atleast 6-8 hours for a paid job. I dont wait long for myself
Im thinking about getting this one and I know you said it's really slow but how many prints can it do in an hour? And does it make good holographic stickers?
Holographic is great for dark colors. Hard to answer print times all depends on size etc
Hello do you think I would need to laminate die cut sticker decals with this man nine?
Hi, lam only if on cars or signage that will e in areas where u clean like counters glass etc
Hello, this printer cand made the color TRON?
fluorescent colors?
too slow and costly to put right when it fails...head strikes.
Right for some or not for some. I have never had a headstrike. Then again i know what to look out for in media
â@@DaPrintHouse not a fan of the BN-20, you only need to speak to someone who fixes Roland printers to know.
Pretty much you have a tiny VS-300 with 10 times the potential problems at the same cost price. Also have to consider maintenance and repairs especially if its a BN20A and Roland are the only ones who can fix it.
400 call out, 150 hr & 2k head - hardly 'start up' costs seeing as a new head every 1-2 years is not unreasonable...its pretty normal on average.
I'd start with a SP-300 or even a VS...if you got the space.
@@deehaytch8442 there are many reasons to start with this machine. Im not gonna type everytbing allready discussed in videos.. dx7 head does a superb job.. either way i worked for a roland dealer yesrs ago. Installed many worked on many. I only have this because of a special circumstance. Great machine for people starting out that dont have the space for a printer. Remember people from the cricut community are mostly moving up to it. Thx for stopping by with some insight though.
