    Step One - Adding Vinyl Roll To Printer:
    When making t-shirts with your print and cut system, you want to use a premium quality printable vinyl. We recommend the Roland HeatSoft Plus Vinyl.
    Step Two - Inserting Vinyl Roll:
    Ensure the pin on your roll is on the same side as your print head. This is the opposite side of the locking lever.
    Step Three - VersaWorks Software:
    Bring your cut ready art file into the VersaWorks software and double click on the print job to bring up the advanced options. In here you need to click "get media width" then select your vinyl type and select your cut force.
    For the Roland HeatSoft Printable Vinyl, we recommend a cut force of 80.
    The glossy permanent adhesive paper is our favorite for making stickers. See how it works in this video: • Embroidered Polos & Cu...
    Step Four - Print & Cut:
    This next step your printer will do all by itself! This is a great time to get some other things done around your shop. When it's done printing and cutting you can use some scissors to remove it from the machine.
    Step Five - Weeding:
    Now it's time to weed your design, or remove the excess pieces of vinyl. Anytime you apply a big vinyl design to a shirt it's going to have a little bit of a hand feel. A good way to make it feel better is to create some negative space for your shirt to breath. We use a weeding pick to help get the pieces free.
    Step Six - Apply Mask:
    Next step to turning this into a transfer is to apply the mask. The mask will go over the top of your design and be pressed on with a squeegee.
    Step Seven - Heat Press On Your Favorite Shirt
    One of my favorite things about the BN20 and these printed transfers is that they stick onto so many different type of fabrics. They can go on both cotton or polyester shirts. Heat press the design at 300 degreed for 15 seconds and remove the transfers carrier sheet when it's still hot!

    • @ColDesiColman
      @ColDesiColman  Před rokem +1

      Normally you would use Corel or Adobe to make the graphic. You make the cut line a specific color so the Roland software knows what to cut. Then you just set it and hit go.

    • @ColDesiColman
      @ColDesiColman  Před 2 lety

      Hi Michaelangelo! Are you referring to lines from the vinyl's carrier sheet? if so, we haven't had issues with that. Usually lines come from heavy pressure and you hardly need any pressure when heat pressing this vinyl.

    how many 11x17 t-shirt prints can be made from a single roll of the stuff linked in the description? to make any real kind of profit, what is the "minimum" i could price a basic cotton T with an 11x17 print? right now I sell shirts for $10 (dare not go any higher, no one would buy them otherwise), using 3G opaque. i assume since vinyl is premium stuff (and doesn't wash away like regular heat transfers thanks to the solvent inks) it can easily get away with a higher price?

    • @foshibuilt9404
      @foshibuilt9404 Před 2 lety

      i sell that same size and t-shirt included for about $23 for a single shirt.. bulk orders are priced lower obviously, for this type of work minimum i go is about $13-$14 for bulk orders.. raise your prices asap. With one roll at the size mentioned you can do about 70 shirts give or take if you have the 75 ft x 20" roll

    • @ColDesiColman
      @ColDesiColman  Před rokem +1

      Making t-shirts can definitely be a process, that is why the cost is so low but the retail is high. This was just a demo but in a production environment you would look to minimize waste and work on efficiency. Also for making t shirts our most popular method is DigitalHeatFX.com however the Roland is great for the versatility of stickers, window cling and other non-apparel goods.

      @@ColDesiColman can there be a transparency window cling sticker decal? What is the difference between a sticker and decal?

    • @ColDesiColman
      @ColDesiColman  Před rokem

      @@josephKEOarthur Yes! We offer both clear and white cling material. A sticker and decal can be the same thing. It's really about the material you use. if you want your sticker or decal to be permanent, you would want to use a Permanent Adhesive Vinyl or Sticker Paper. If you want a decal that can be taken on and off easily, and doesn't have a strong adhesive backing, you would want to use a cling material. Here is a guide that shows which material is best for each application - colmanandcompany.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/PDF_MSDS/Roland-BN20-Application-Guide.pdf

      I do agree... it does looks bad indeed, and completely unnecessary.. the actual design is wrong.
      Those large white letters and the white inner square frame SHOULD NOT be in white.. but in the same color of the rest of the design... that way when you weed the letters the cut line itself with the fabric color would form the letters and the square frame ... that way there would be no white borders in the letters and the square frame..
      Also the amount of wasted material ( 30 to 40% of vinyl and transfer) doesn't seem too professional either

      Hi G T. Anytime you put a transfer or something on top of a garment it is going to block airflow through the garment. But people buy garments decorated with vinyl and transfers all the time. If you want a system that doesn't disrupt the airflow of shirts, check out sublimation - czcams.com/video/R8E-yS-PsUY/video.html
