    Beautiful video. I agree I never thought of Africa as a tourist destination. I was also a little bit apprehensive about traveling to Africa. But I think there are lot of places where a foreigner can enjoy their stay in Africa. I would love to visit countries in Africa where English is spoken like Kenya, Uganda and others.

      @@InspireForTravel I would like to visit the lake. No, I would like to migrate to Tanzania, but I fear the crocodiles so much. Are there many at your lake? I am German but listened carefully to what the president of Tanzania said about the corona stuff. We are living like war prisoners in Germany. Not allowed to leave the house, only for work or cases of emergency. It is horror. How are you doing in your country?

      @@janisimleder9509 Gute Nacht. I trust the situation gets better in Germany soon. There is no need to fear the crocodiles in the areas where they are you wouldn't be allowed to get near them. Here In Kenya, there is a curfew between the hours of 10pm- 4am apart from that normal business operations continue. In Tanzania, there is no curfew.

      @@InspireForTravel Guten Morgen, thank you so much for your answer. That is so kind.
      Here all the shops, hotels, restaurants and bars are closed since the 1st of November, excluded food stores and pharmacies. And it will go on and on like this. I think it will be a never ending story. Many people are working from their home office. This is why we are thinking about leaving Europe.
      So good to know that the crocodiles are in a separated area, where they don‘t eat house dogs and human beings😊. Have a wonderful day. Jani.

    Great video. But it's never been called lake Nyanza. Really, it's original name is Nam Lolwe (Lake Lolwe). Not sure where Lake Nynza came from.

  • @BS-kl9yf
    @BS-kl9yf Před 3 lety +2

    I grew up in Kisumu my home city knowing it's L.Victoria the second biggest fresh water lake in the world after L.Superior. I hope you gave it a nick name "Nyanza" because there is no such lake🤣. Nyanza is a former Provincial Administration region but does not refer to the lake. If you ask Uganda and Tanzania where 94% of the lake is situated they have no idea of the name Nyanza so just stick to the official name it's L.Victoria. We even have joint East African board managining it as Victoria. We might not like the English names but until we decide to change it, nick names are more confusing. I had to google L.Nyanza to be sure if the name changed when I came abroad and found out it doesn't exist.

    • @InspireForTravel
      @InspireForTravel  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Thank You for your comment, don't forget to like, share and subscribe, The lake is also known as 'Victoria Nyanza' this has been confirmed on Encyclopedia Britannica have look here: www.britannica.com/place/Lake-Victoria

    • @BS-kl9yf
      @BS-kl9yf Před 3 lety +2

      @@InspireForTravel what you are citing from Britannica is a section of the lake giving it an informal name not used in any of the four counties around the lake or the former Nyanza Province. All the integrated development plans of Kisumu, Homabay, Siaya and Migori counties mention L.Victoria as opposed to Victoria Nyanza. Going by Britannica reference of Victoria Nyanza which is L.Victoria within the boarders of Kenya, then it invalidates the fact of it being the biggest fresh water lake in Africa because what they call Victoria Nyanza is only 6% of the entire lake size. Therefore, the only accurate reference to this lake as the biggest in Africa comes with reference to the official name being L.Victoria covering all the countries as opposed to splitting it into regional names as if they are three distinct lakes. Ugandans will also tell you another name in Luganda called Nnalubaale but this ain't the official name, same goes to Luos we call it Nam lolwe. My point is, that there is only one official name of L.Victoria, together with several other nick names which is why I previously said you nick named it😊.

      @@MrKamau777 🤣 why do you insult me instead of having an intellectual discussion. Have you googled Ziwa Nyanza and seen what appears? All your comments to people even in African Traveller this morning end in insults but we understand you being twise my age doesn't mean you are any wiser. Wisdom doesn't come with age and bushy beard 🤣. Let me school you for free without insults. My profession is on Regional Integration and I deal with transboundary resources in East Africa including Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mara- Serengeti, Mt. Elgon and L.Victoria that is why this video caught my attention. Jina rasmi la ziwa upande wa Tanzania laitwa ZIWA VICTORIA. Jina Ziwa Nyanza ni jina la kilahaja baina ya wasukuma. Read the last sentence in my previous comment and stop naming the lake as if they are three distinct lakes. You are the same people in Central Kenya who claim Nyanza is full of poverty and don't even know where it is now you want to rename a transboundary resource, oh lawd have mercy 🤣. That name cannot even be published in Kenya Gazzett because it is not owened by Kenya alone. Do you even know where the East African Community headquaters of L.Victoria is based now that you mention Tanzania? Cite your source of these new names you purport to exisit. I'm more Pan-African than you, given your misinformed comments online so calm down and stop with the insults. You are the one still stuck with colonial mindset going by the ideology of your videos circling around colonial history and mau mau regions when African boarders are being opened beyond villages. Stop lamenting about the past, take what we have and move ahead. You don't even know that Uganda suspended production of solar powered buses and you are insulting people with outdated facts on African Traveller🤣. Let me help you guys with a better way to stay updated. We produce annual AU African Regional Integration Reports every year explaining the journey towards Agenda 2063, Regional Economic Communities progress and AfCFTA. Kindly read them they are free and make you stay abreast about Africa. Don't embarass yourselves with wrong information that just make you sound stupid. It's just a suggestion but I will know your decision about my advice based on the next comment 🤣. Again loud and clear, nick names are several, but official name is L.Victoria.

      @@InspireForTravel sorry if I hurt your feelings given that you liked the insult given to my comment. This lake is one of my research areas that is the only reason your video caught my attention in terms of attention to detail. I should have known corrections are unwelcomed on this thread so kindly accept my apologies people🙏.
