- This song if one of the three main songs featured in the cartoon aspects of the 1946 film 'Song of the South". The song is sung by Uncle Remus (James Baskett), Critters(James Baskett and Uncredited) and Brer Rabbit(John Lee) . All rights to the Walt Disney Company.
I bought a copy of the Song of the South on Blu-ray from Japan to contradict Disney's claim that this doesn't exist. Best decision of my life the songs are catchy as hell

@@HappyHalloween11even if Splash Mountain is reborn as Tiana's bayou, it'll always be Splash Mountain in our hearts. At least they kept the same ride overall and didn't try to change it from a log flume ride to something else entirely like another roller coaster

Splash Mountain was one of my favorite places in all the parks. ❤
I love everything about this, the music, the movie, and especially the ride. I'm absolutely heartbroken.

@@michelelindor grow up. This film is about white children befriending a black man who works for them. The whole point of this movie is to show friendship between blacks and whites
@@ronki23 FRIENDSHIPS RARELY IF *BARELY* OCCURRED IN THIS SETTING BETWEEN “BLACKS” AND WHITE PEOPLE let alone entire communities of the two. The movie completely and inaccurately portrays happy times and harmonious living between the two groups which is pure and utter fiction. If you wanna watch the movie, go ahead. But Disney clearly is choosing to part ways with that type of representation and giving the ride a much needed and current update to the people who are going to Disney World now.
@@michelelindor yes so cry about it it cause this was everyone’s childhood, sure some of the live action parts in this movie was racist but the animated parts were good and the actor won an Oscar for best actor. Splash mountain doesn’t need any update cause Its perfect the way it is, but you people just claim everything needs new stuff due to being “racist” or some crap. #savesplashmountain
This movie is about slave master and the slave's don't get it fucked up they just left out the whips for the white audience!
The opening lines to this scene are actually kinda hilarious. “Once upon a time, not your time, nor yet my time, but one time, I was going fishing.” LOL how can you be going fishing before your “time”?
All the years I've watched that scene How do you do in both the film and the sing a long tape I've never noticed until just now that Brer Turtle and Brer Raccoon were in that scene at 1:48. How did I not notice them until now in this song
I remember seeing this on one of the Disney sing-a-long videos. This might have been the first time I've ever seen Brer Rabbit. Well, at least Disney's version anyway.

The only part of the movie that's actually good and the least controversial (not to mention not boring). If "SONG OF THE SOUTH" were ever re-released, it should just be the cartoon sequences (with perhaps Remus telling the stories to the kids as a framing device if one MUST put something from the live action parts in it).
Better yet, just have the animated bits with Remus in cartoon land telling the stories to us. Perhaps do a slight redub and have him be called "Old Man Remus" or "Mister Remus" and thus these old African-American folk tales can be passed down without the questionable baggage.
Nothing in this movie is boring… lmao watch more movies if you think that.
