You really can pick up some speed on these things!! :)

You sure can :) I don't tend to go too fast, but my Strava has clocked a top speed of 40mph (although I'm guessing that's not particularly accurate - and was of course probably downhill!)

Wow, London looks eerily quiet, never seen it like that before. Is It getting any busier yet? I’ve got to say, I’m impressed with your turn of speed on the Brompton, how are you liking it? Great videos, thanks.

This was fairly early in the day. It is still a lot quieter than 'normal' though. Think the video makes it look like I'm going faster than I actually am. Although when I need to go fast, it certainly has the ability to really pick up the pace without spinning out.

I too was impressed by the consistently good speed... more.than I could manage now, (76).

I must admit I haven't explored this area too much yet, but looking forward to seeing what's around. Bit of a shame there was no cycling allowed in Battersea Park. I'd liked to have filmed riding through there.

I follow the rules and hate seeing people running red lights as well. And it’s also annoying because I like to ride road bikes occasionally as well as my Brompton and a Dutch bike. People judge you for what bike you’re riding and what you’re wearing rather than how you ride, because of these bad seeds.

I think the guys in this video particularly annoyed me because they were riding side by side, so effectively taking up the same area as a car going through the red light.

Steven Maddison Yeah. Except drivers never cut you any slack riding side by side. It’s legal to do so on quieter roads but one time when I randomly started talking to a guy while riding and doing that, we got honked at anyway.

Hi Steve! I don’t know if i should say this but i would suggest you backpedal or stop pedalling when you shift gears from 2-3 or 1-2 or vice versa. I know a friend who damaged his Sturmey Archer by incorrectly shifting gears. Now, his 3rd gear isn’t working anymore. I think he might need to get a new Sturmey Archer wheel though.
Just saving you from potential financial burden. :) cheers from a fellow Bromptoner! :)

Hi Iggy, thanks for the advice. I tend to pause pedalling when changing the right hand gears, but thought it was okay when going from + to - on the left hand lever.
I'll make sure I completely stop from now on to make sure I don't mess up the gears! :)

@@miguel0226 I'm sure you are right. I'm still getting used to stopping pedalling, so do forget every now and then! :)
