I totally disagree with these reporters who insist that film actors must have an opinion about social or political issues. Why? They are actors, talk to them about their craft. Why should their opinions hold any mettle (weather they have one or not) on a subject that they are not an expert of. If you want an opinion on politics talk to the politicians, interview them and ask them why a certain policy was implemented. Go to the people who are the subject matter experts because their opinion on the subject is what really matters and they will be the real influencers. Also, if they are doing something wrong in the public eye then go interview them and grill them about why they passed a certain law or why they implemented xyz. Let the public express their dis satisfaction to the people who are actually accountable. What is this practice of holding film actors accountable for everything and anything that they may not even know enough about.
Because these people are public figures and somehow they have that power to make others think .
If a public figure is positive and have a good value people will get influenced by them.
People are eagerly waiting to listen or watch what these celebrity are doing in their life rather than any political figures or scientists or anyone.
So whatever opinion they have that's really matters to common people. May be not with highly intellectual ones still in india common people are more.
Rather than talking about fashion or makeup which has nothing to do with ordinary people if they talk about our country's condition, or any social issue people will atleast notice or think.
Just look at the interview of Sara Ali Khan... It's a positive one atleast one of the viewer should have decided to think in a positive way like her. That's how These people are influencing others.

Amrita Oxymoron I actually really like Alia and do feel she is a talented actress. However there was not much role selection there...everything was given by KJo...although she did do well on them when given these roles.
Kjo offered many roles to many people. But she selected only her choice roles. Deepika, Katrina got big movies without talent in the beginning of career. Why don't you question them
