I grew up in a small rural place. The stories he tells is like common occurrences in these small rural places. The weirdest and craziest crap happens all the time in those places. I guess due to extreme boredom coupled with people that really dont care.

Also drugs and/or liquor. When you go past partying and into debauchery, these types of people (myself included previously) have a knack of finding each other and compounding the mayhem.

He's from Covington, Louisiana. Theo was also on MTVs Road Rules. My wife and I are from Louisiana but now live in Texas. We went to one of Theos stand up shows in Austin a couple months ago and it was so much fun. I've never laughed so hard! We spent too much money on his merch. I got a Tshirt and enamel pin. She got a baseball jersey, autographed poster, socks, sticker and an enamel pin.
The weird, obscure stuff he talks about paired with his delivery makes Theo one of the best. His podcast appearances are legendary.

@25:24 Most of the adults get busy. Single parent family on a single income is a busy time, and child care is expensive. I'm glad you had a sheltered childhood you should thank your parents for that. The interesting thing is that these crazy sounding stories can happen right under your nose if you're not paying attention and even involve people you know.

Von is the ultimate story teller and makes it super funny 😁 he take certain facts from his life and weaves this fantastic funny story 😄 because he said it, he loves to see people bust out with huge laughter, milk blowing out the nose as he put it, so like he said he just keeps going until he finds something thats you laugh then he is off to the races and is going to get you to the point where you are roaring with laughter, the is his passion and gives him joy 😊 just a bunch of crazy sh-it all mixed together, facts with lies, 🤣🤣🤣
thats the beauty of comedy is exaggerating a story and Theo is the best at it because you think to yourself this could be true even tho you know most of it probably isn't.

People say his stories aren't true im not sure if hes said that but i know some crazy people and have crazy stories that nobody would believe. Comedians break things down differently and everything is funny to them. They notice things most people dont.

In the 90s my dad was stationed in South Korea for a year by himself. He sent me home a knock off Knicks starter pullover, and a KC "Chefs" one.

theo's making money telling these stories, man... i gotta get on that hustle. i didnt grow up in podunk louisiana, but i grew up in a place called cameron park, ca. nowadays it's a pretty nice place, but back then it was california hillbillies. 49er stock that one day they woke up and a bunch of yuppies had moved into part of "shingle springs" and decided it was called "cameron park" now, put in a golf course and a little airport, but like the yuppie kids went to school with all us hillbilly kids. us hillbilly kids would find ways to entertain ourselves. one time we had this one dude whos dad made his own shotgun ammo so we were able to swipe gunpowder. this one yuppie kid, his dad was into model rocketry so he had like cardboard tubes and nose cones and most importantly estes model rocket engines. so we built a handful of model rockets that we stuffed with gunpowder and buckshot and launched out of a chunk of pvc pipe....at an abandoned volkswagen out in a field. we legit made out own rocket propelled grenades. this other time the one homie swiped his dad's multi-stage rocket and this thing called a "payloader" (it was like a plastic capsule so you could put things in it and launch the rocket). so we duct-taped the payloader on top of this multi-stage rocket and put a mouse from the pet store in there (mice were like 99cents). now i dont know if this mouse ever actually made it into orbit, but what i can tell you is that the rocket went so high we couldnt see it anymore and we never did find it so um... possibly up there in low earth orbit is our "mousetronaut". one time we hot-glued roofing nails all over the shell of a crawdad and let him loose. why? because we figured no bass would be able to eat him if he had gnarly spikes all over and he'd be the king of the creek. one time me and my brother were at this big hill where people dump their trash so they dont have to pay the fees at the landfill. there were like 50 wild turkeys down at the bottom of the hill and we got this idea that mom would be pleased if we brought home a turkey for dinner cuz turkey was mad expensive at the store. so we dragged a bunch of discarded tires to the edge of a steep part overlooking the turkeys and attempted to manufacture our own roadkill for dinner. didnt work though. did you know that turkeys can fly short distances? we didnt. oh, you know how they tell you not to put aerosol cans in fire? well me and my friend rob wanted to find out why. so we rounded up every aerosol can we could find. starter fluid, spray paint, aqua net, you name it. if it was aerosol we grabbed it. we lined them cans up on a piece of 2x6 in the back yard right in front of the burn-pit, started a fire, and then sat on the back porch taking potshots at the cans with rob's bb gun. eventually we managed to puncture one of the cans and it made this spinning fireball knocking over the other cans, a few fell in the burn pit, others caught fire outside the pit, some were "duds". next thing we know the whole damned backyard is on fire. so we rolled out the hose and it was too short, so here we are taking turns putting our thumb over the end of the hose trying to shoot water int the various bits of burning grass. eventually a neighbor showed up with a fire extinguisher and helped us put out the backyard, but not before we charred the sh-t out of the back fence and partially burned down a wooden swingset.
I didnt know there was a contest. I just know my friends and i are lucky to have all survived to adulthood with all our fingers and someone needs to petition the vatican to canonize all our moms as saints for not beating us to death.

Only a “Co-worker” is someone whom you work with. He was a busboy, so it could be another busboy, a server, a cook, or anyone from the kitchen (or anyone else who worked in that restaurant). It sounds like a term he made up, but at least it is specific - meaning a busboy like himself. Maybe he should have said, “Another busboy”. His language is odd, but it makes him a unique comedian like few others. His bizarre choice of words is funny in itself.

Well, I learned a new word today...
I think the brilliance of Theo Von is maybe 10% of these stories are true. Or at least 10% of each story, and the rest is embellished. Sometimes you can see his brain working in real time.
I just assume he’s telling the truth from seeing compilations of him saying the basically the same thing on different podcasts from different years.
Plus having cousins being from the south are pretty Theo Von like. Also I don’t understand how Pacific Islanders even ended up in the south.
