- From the old SPEED channel, Jeff Hammond hosts this profile of legendary mechanic and car owner Bud Moore. This short documentary covers a lot of ground, from Bud's involvement in World War II to his exit from the NASCAR Cup Series in 1999. Moore reflects on his storied career including his stints with Buck Baker and Joe Weatherly in NASCAR. In the late 1960's Moore played a crucial role with Ford in the Trans-Am series. A return to NASCAR in the 70's brought pairings with Buddy Baker & Bobby Allison.
I race with the number 15 because of Bud Moore.
My cousin and I bought a 78 Thunderbird from Bud Moore. The car was a former Bobby Allison Grand National, we bought it to run the Busch Series in 81.
Fascinating stuff. Never saw the original run of this series but it's really well done. Love the history, thanks for sharing.
I agree. Thanks for watching!
