  • Jaguar S-type 4.2 Sport stock exhaust system vs. Adamesh performance rear silencers.
And had to try it with no rear silencers as well...

Hi, I posted this video a couple of years ago and can't remember the account I used, so I have to reply as a comment. First of all, you can't really hear the difference with crappy laptop speakers. The Adamesh silencers are definitely the loudest. They make a deep rumble, and the car could be heard a block away. They sound great, except for a slight boom at around 1600-1700 rpm. Doggepe was worried about the engine being cold, but actually it wasn't. The engine was warm but it was just a typical winter day with -18C, that's why there's a lot of steam... And the car didn't move because that's where I fit the exhaust. It took just half an hour or so, so I didn't bother booking a DIY garage or anything. I currently own an X350 XJ8, and that's way too quiet after this one. I'll probably fit butterfly valves so I can open up the exhaust when I wan't to listen to the glorious V8, and close it when I want to cruise in complete silence...

Wait you can actually install something that reduces the noise when you want to ?!

I just bought an s-type r with an Adamesh exhaust fitted. It’s definitely on the loud side. I might revert to stock.

Found out that these are a bit louder in person and have a good amount of bass.

For anyone else. - Avoid the X-Type, I've owned two. You will ALWAYS have an issue with the AWD system and the transmission. The 2003+ S-Types are much better.
