Agreed but we need more to wake up! Never in a million years did I think it could happen in my small rural community but it did. There was a second grade teacher that gave my daughters class a writing assignment. She was supposed to write a paper on why she didn’t like Donald Trump. She actually does like him even though I didn’t. When I heard that I yanked her out of her school and brought her home. My wife and I now home school her. Our kids are being indoctrinated right under our noses.

No the first mistake was never holding them accountable and not paying any attention to what they were teaching our children. Most of us took our eyes off of the ball being distracted by the almighty dollar and the increasing amount of time we are forced to work just to barely break even because our government keeps growing larger and larger and more expensive on each and everyone of us. Look at how much we actually get to keep from our hard earned finances, look at how much they _decide_ we should be paying them.
This is a major reason I homeschool my children.

I retired from teaching in 2021. I've seen real change in our schools. Teaching has gone from asking a child to develop an opinion and defending it to telling them that there opinion is wrong because it is not the ideology that is currently being funded.

I taught for 30 years. I would never have taught that crap. When they wanted us teaching about the LGBTQ through grouping within classes under the banner of anti-bullying they did not do that. So sad for this generation in school now. I remember when schools taught actual math, history, science, home economics, shop and encouraged learning how to work. How education has failed over the the last 20 years.
It's been a lot longer than that. It's more like 45+ years. I observed the education levels dropping like a rock in the mid to late 70s.

Yep... Certainly for the criminals. But people have been lied to for decades 180 degrees opposite of the truth concerning so many things. IE: Poverty does not "cause" crime, rather crime causes poverty. There are billions of poor people around the globe who do not create gangs, sell poison to their own people, and shoot each other in the streets. But when crime rises & criminals are allowed to increase, all the local businesses leave the area, taking all of the jobs with them. The result is abject poverty. If people (business owners/citizens) would hold criminals to account and punish them harshly even before the police arrived (woops! he must have slipped???) rather than praising them as hero's, we could end this problem in a week! Bleeding hearts are just as bad... STOP giving people a 21st second chance! Or you will eventually be the next victim on the menu.

There are plenty of jobs in most places & there is truly NO REASON to steal other than the criminal's perceived entitlement. Hunger is one hell of a motivator to find a job or forage for food. Even without a regular job, nature provides a bounty of meat, insects, fungus & vegetables if one is willing to put forth a little effort. All that is required to eat, for example, is to drop a fishing line in the water from the end of a stick & a bug on a hook. And you can find plenty of old rusted hooks & tangled line on nearly any sandbar or shore and many insects under rocks, all free of charge. I have lived in both Alaska & Thailand. In both places food was scarce but for different reason.
Thailand in 1974 was very poor (including my family) but we managed to eat well anyway. Insect larva provides a wealth of protein, rabbits are easy to raise, and they will eat almost any plant or root that is non-poisonous if they are hungry. Alaska was more about the expense of food because many things were imported and therefore unaffordable in the one small shop, many miles away. So, most small families that were struggling would hunt "hares" (there are no "rabbits" in Alaska only hares, which are similar but thicker and very tasty). We would trap muskrats & beaver by the edges of lakes & used other various snare & trapping techniques for marten or fox. And there were literally tons of berries in the summer which are massive in size compared to the lower 48 states. Blueberry, raspberry & low bush cranberry were plentiful & my mother made pies constantly.
Everyone hunted for food in Alaska. But my family could not afford a large rifle to take down a moose or deer. When hunting, we took our small game (grouse, ptarmigan, hares, etc...) with a Sheridan Blue Streak, a quite powerful but inexpensive pellet gun. When we needed larger game once or twice a year (high iron content) we would use a 7mm Magnum rifle our neighbor let us borrow to hunt for moose or deer. We stored all of our meat in the bear cache adjacent to our cabin high in the air, so it stayed frozen, and no animal could run off with it. But we never stole anything from anyone, ever! Because my father was a moral man, a REAL man, who believed in hard work, discipline & self-sacrifice. He taught me the same. Maybe that is what people who have grown up only to become criminals and thieves needed more than anything in their life but never had, a good father...
Seeing this makes me hesitant about having kids. I’m so glad I graduated school before all this madness and confusion.

Some employees and politicians have vested interest, so they can make millions on public information. Look it up, you can't get public information for free in any area of California. Every parent of a child registered in a school should be able to demand full access to the curriculum of every class their child attends. Then it can be debated openly and fully at school board parent suppression meetings.
They need to start either home school like I did for a bit or charter schools.
When you hire a builder to build your house do you get a folding chair and sit in front of the house and debate with the builder on every tiny thing they do? No you don't. So why are trying to do it to the teaching profession? No profession would tolerate that level of micromanagement especially teachers who are already under an ungodly amount of micromanagement already. Teachers are already the lowest paid professional position in the country you force them to do that garbage they will walk and if they walk your education problems become an unmitigated disaster.
As a teacher, I always tell my parents at the beginning of the school year they are more than welcome to sit in the classroom and watch me teach and if they take issue to something I teach in my civics class I am more than happy to sit down with them during my planning period and discuss it with them. Guess what? None of them ever take me up on my offer but these are the same parents pushing this idiotic reform of forcing teachers to write lesson plans.
