- A couple of things to note when watching this video:
- CZcams doesn't let me upload it in full frame rate, so a lot of the bullets and projectiles are not showing. This is because they appear only on every other frame to reduce lag in 2 player.
- The deaths in stage 3 are intentional. If only one player is alive when climbing the wall, we save around 15 seconds of lag. - Hry

In case anyone was wondering, player 2 kept dying on level three to reduce lag while player 1 fights the miniboss while climbing up the wall.

I was never able to finish it. Always got to the last boss here. There is a way to get rest 30 men, never could get that either.

Finally found the game of my memory! Never knew what it was called. I don't think I ever made it past the third stage back in the day. But hey, that was like 12 years ago and I didn't own this game myself. Not even the console, 'cause I started off with the GameCube. Nice job btw, master Contra's!

I had super Probotector and I remember when I played the game for the first time. So much action and great OST. I especially like the level 3 track.

Dropping p2 at level three was a smart move. The boss become too random during fight up top with two players.
It's a countermeasure for lag during that part of the stage, but ok

Wasn't it hard for Konami to understand how to make a brand new Contra game like this? Contra Anniversary Collection got it right while Rouge Corps got it all wrong. That's to be expected from the laughing stock of the industry.
BTW, the auto-scrolling segments during Stage 3 can go fuck itself!

I think there's some cheating going on here. A lot of the attacks by the enemies weren't registering. Did you turn on God Mode on the emulator?

Intenta pulsar dos veces el botón de giro, para girar más rápido. Debería ser suficiente para contrarrestar. 👍

Why doesn't immediately obtain a 2 (C) weapons asap instead of waiting till end game?
Because the bosses usually have a relatively small amount of life that 1 single player can defeat very quickly and in which a 2nd player would offer little to no impact in the speed of its defeat. Case contrary with Mother Brain in its second form, which requires Quad-C because its life is obscenely high.
Also, because in some levels, the low frequency of the reloads and the short range of the Crusher Missile is a hindrance in missions in which long range or spreading are essential for a swift sweep through these levels.

Towards the end it's clear you somehow made yourselves invincible. The boss's rocks literally hit you and you don't die.
Is a glitch of sorts, when the player is crouched, the hit box of the character is really small, so that's why the rocks seems to hit but doesn't make any damage

How do you know that The game ended at 13:38?
luis lopez Timing starts when you gain control of the characters (around 0:17 in this video) and ends when you los control (around 13:55).

you know how in the top view stages it splits the screen in two player? in 2player B its a single screen

Les explico. Este es un speedrun TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun). Es un SR que se ejecuta en un emulador a mitad o un cuarto de la velocidad, mientras se graban los comandos. Luego se ejecutan los comandos emulando el juego a velocidad normal, y debido a que el juego casi siempre sigue un patrón (una especie de curso programado), las acciones se repiten igual casi siempre dando el mismo resultado.

If player 2 is alive during the wall climbing section, the game lags a lot. Killing off player 2 saves about 20 seconds there.
