- In this video, I talk about my experience with getting burnt out on skateboarding and when you should either quit or take an extended break. I also talk about some things I learned from Andrew Huberman and the podcast he did with the Nine club.

as someone who started skating during the summer, the cold is a big downer for me so i haven’t been skating as much, but i try to push thru bc i don’t wanna lose my progress
this is the video i needed, i just got a back injury and the message at the beginning was awesome. thanks matt
My feelings for skating are exactly the same rn with the sun setting so early. It only gives me like 45 min after school each day to skate. pair that with how cold it already is just makes it not as enjoyable
Same but just hustle trough
thanks, matt. i totally agree with everything you said.
also, the google form says it is “no longer accepting responses”
Woops, just changed that so it's accepting now!
i like how u talks about the things beside skateboarding and like really talks full picture about it about tahe fails the wins and the training you need to go through
Always good to see a new vid
My only problem with taking breaks is that I can’t concentrate if I don’t slam and don’t get those adrenaline kicks through my week. It’s like meditation
It sucks quitting. I used to skate like crazy for years after starting at 14, but life changed, i got work now, i cant just spend hours outside anymore. Yesterday was the first day i skated in two or threee years. Felt unbalanced, couldnt land any tricks. Its defeating and sad saying goodbye to that part of my youth. Maybe itll come back. Idk
AYYY NEW MATT VIDEO 💥
can't fill the google form btw
Have you people just not heard of thermals and snow skate skateboards? But if you do take a break work out legs and flexibility so you can hold up longer
That’s a good decision bro you gotta breath. I’ve been there skateboarding is an option nothing mandatory I’ve gotten back on board to stay out of trouble but I took a break a couple of years ago 🤷🏻♂️
Hey matt i have 2 questions my first question whats your setup? Deck? Grip? Wheels? Bearings? Trucks? Hardware? Also do you buy your boards from zumiez or vans?
Shit iv been on a extended break since I stopped lol I ain’t tryna get hurt anymore over the stupidest tricks it’s fun to pick it up here and there tho
matts losing his mind perhaps you could say going bananas
Haha the title got me

I'm sorry, but is sooooooo BS to suggest only the first kickflip gives you a true high though. There also is no physical threshold for dopamine in a physical sense. And no limit. I don't care what that professor suggested, but it's simply not true. In fact, with high dopamine levels, it's easier to become euphoric. It's literally what it does. It's nothing like cocaine. You can never get the same high from natural dopamine as you could get from drugs. And do people even know 80% of your brain catecholamine content already consists of dopamine? It's literally what 'fires the brain up' so to speak. Our body actually with get too stressed out when dopamine levels reach a too high level. It will invoke negative feedback. And you can not train your dopamine levels to become higher. You can kiiinda get addicted to the rush it gives (like sports addiction, sex addiction etc.) But it will never force you to chase an ever bigger high.
