What you went thru is exactly why I tell everyone in the USA that driving on single tires on any axle other than steer axle is insanity and stupid. With 2 tires on every wheel rear of steer axle if you have a blowout, you can still get to a service center to get fixed. Half the issue is these single wheel tires can't run the weight per wheel that having 2 tires per wheel can. There are also traction issues in inclement weather. There is no fuel benefit in reality from using single tires per wheel. Rolling resistance arguments be darned, they are all lies from corporate stooges. Commercial vehicles need two tires per wheel rear of steer axle to travel safely on the roadways.

      1:04 it's not a single wheel axle

Thru! 2 tires on each side per axle is perfect!!

@@vilenius187 then why you sit there so long waiting for help, you should have driven slowly to the nearest shop to get it repaired. I drove for 30+ years with 18 tires on 5 axles and whenever I had a blowout I just drove to the nearest shop. Not worth wasting time and money sitting there waiting for rescue. Also, it is cheaper to go to a shop instead of waiting for road assist.

@@chriskilga9708 YOU DON'T DRIVE when a tire is blown. That tire is lose on the rim.
it will only break down more and more leaving pieces of rubber on the road.

@@Mitchellmotor obviously where you come from money grows on trees. Calling a tire service out costs more than going to the shop. the tire is already trash no reason to save it. Wasting time and money on a tire is not worth losing a customer and their freight. If you drive slow enough you will be able to get to a shop with the second tire with no problem. Here in the states, we do that often and get back down the road. Only big deep pocket Mega Fleets force their drivers to stay on the shoulder for hours waiting for a service truck. But alas they don't care about anything except their end of the year bonus.
