I’m disabled as well and the idea of flying now is a nightmare. Kudos to you for going head on and having your needs be addressed so calmly! Wishing you well ❤
@@Fadingroses19 For me it’s mostly the standing and walking. I can’t stand for long or walk very far. I also am in constant pain and being in a stuffed seat unable to get up and move/stretch every so often without bothering the people next to me would be tricky. I need medication 3 times a day and it’s a hassle to bring all the bottles while traveling. Since I take handfuls of pills I also would have to ask my caretaker to ask the pharmacy to give me my controlled substances early which they are not willing to do. My caretaker works full time and might not be able to come with me as well. Not to mention people also treat me unkindly at times. My disability is invisible and people don’t know I have it unless I tell them so not only would these things be difficult but many people don’t believe me when I talk about my disability which makes accommodations harder. Many people tell me to give up my seating to the elderly or get impatient with me for moving slow/needing breaks. Traveling for long periods of time staying in a seated position is very rough on my body as I’m mostly bed ridden from pain so these are just some of the things I have to consider if I’d travel.
Champ is killing being pat down he is so very professional. His face said “HEY! I’m WORKIN’ HERE” so serious he even looks at you to let you know he’s focused. I love it I am glad you are working with such a talented dog.
I have an ADI certified Lab Service Dog but can only afford to travel once every few years. I assume if they’re buying extra seats, it’s the norm. I also can barely fit into a 1st Class seat, so economy is impossible nor can I buy several tickets. Fortunately I’ve had dog lovers next to me the two times I’ve flown. I’m grateful for those people.
As for the last line please know as someone with very bad flight anxiety getting to sit next to a big sweet dog would be like a gift I’m ngl. I’d be yelling everyone there was a cute dog on my flight and he got to sit right next to me fr
Do you ever have issues with people with dog allergies sitting near you? I always wondered how that would work out/how well the airline would handle things.
I had a woman have a hissy fit when I triedtting next to her on a packed bus the other day saying she has allergies. I said 'that's fine I'll just go stand up the back of the bus' trying to be considerate, but she was like 'NO NO ITS NOT WORTH IT!' demanded I let her out but stood really close to me ranting about me stealing her seat when she demanded I let her out just to stand close to me anyway 🤦🏻♀️
I'm getting my pup used to planes She's still a little fearful but she's getting there!!!! We're using my friend's private jet for practice which is fun❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You should make sure before you leave a grassy area to go to the airport to let your dog go when they find it more comfortable and they know the area more.
I always panic when I think I might get patted down, I have severe issues to physical touch and the thought of being patted down by a complete stranger in public makes me want to cry
Dear all services dog owners. I personally would LOVE to sit in the same row as your partner. I have already trained my older kid on how to act around service dogs. Dad can handle the middle as littlest is an infant. If you don't mind my toddler.
Genuine question? I’m not against them being on planes, just curious. But when you have an allergy to dogs on a plane close to service dog, how is that handled? I’ve never been on a plane but always wondered how allergies like dogs, cats, and food are handled on planes.
For all those people who don't know what airport is this or where it is located. This is the Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle Washington. How do I know it's Sea-Tac International Airport not other airports that I might be mistaken. Because I live in the Seattle Washington metropolitan area (Gig Harbor Washington). I go to Sea-Tac International Airport to catch my flight to stay in Thailand for a month and half and I just recently came back from my trip to Thailand about two days ago and I was around that area where that lady was standing there on the video.
You should not have to pay for extra seating for a service dog. Just saying... a disability ofteneans less income for certain things and requiring a person with a service animal to have to pay for extra seating for a pupper is in my mind greed and should be criminal.
She doesn't have to, she chooses to in order to be kind to those around her. She wouldn't get denied if she had him sit in the floor even if it's just one seat she bought. It's a convenience thing and a courtesy thing rather than a requirement by an airline

What makes it so difficult?

I love Champ chilling for the pat down, just appreciating some pets.

I hope that everyone treats both you and Champ with kindness and respect. I would love to have you and Champ next to me on a plane.

How was your first experience on a plane with Champ. Is he your first service dog?🐕🦺 I love dogs so much.❤❤
And I only had surgery. You are amazing I hate the idea flying.
He is so cute!❤😊
That's a wonderful helper you have there
thank you for sharing. Safe travels!
Absolutely adorable ! I’d happily sit next to her!
Thank you for sharing. As far as I’m concerned Champ has every right to sit on the seat you just paid for. 😊

He is such a good boy, your guardian angel forever ❤ I'm so happy there is service animals like Champ for people who need them

Quick question for long haul flights that are over 16 hours straight and if a service dog has to use the bathroom, what do you do?
Bless your heart!!!

Champ's like "Mom, the bathrooms suck, but those TSA people give me really good pets. Airports get 7/10." 😂
You can often get a free extra seat due to disability, i bet you vould get one because champ is essential but hes quite large

what do you do if someone tries to sit in the empty seat??

He should be allowed to sit on the seat. Can’t be any worse than little kids.

Do you ever go to the pool? If you do how do you do everything
Those dog places in the airport are nasty and they smell horrible
This is not supposed to sound mean, but champ looks so big how much does he way
i believe she has dwarfism, the dog looks big beside her due to that. in my (non expert) opinion) that dog looks pretty regular.
How do you wear winter boots with your prosthesis?
i can’t wear boots with my prosthesis :)
Go potty? LOL
Girl your old video is the same but who cares im just here to learn and see a doggy facts 1 dont touch service dogs
i repost info when i’ve grown in followers since i get a lot of the same questions many times a day
