"Stench Of Corruption!" Isabel Oakeshott SLAMS Tories For Betting On Election

  • Talk International Editor Isabel Oakeshott says the people under investigation for betting on when the election would be called haven’t done anything illegal as the 'law allows for insider trading.'
Conservative candidate Laura Saunders earlier on Thursday said she “will be co-operating with the Gambling Commission” probe, while her husband, the Tories’ director of campaigning Tony Lee, took a leave of absence amid reports the couple were being investigated by the gambling regulator.
News of the investigation into Bristol North West candidate Ms Saunders emerged after the arrest of one of the Prime Minister’s police protection officers and the previous revelation of a Gambling Commission investigation into his parliamentary aide Craig Williams over betting allegations.
Isabel says: “The absolute stench of corruption here.”

The economy is international now, the people doing the menial low paid work are most likely to live and work abroad, the rich are unlikely to be based in one country, but are international with assets and houses in multiple countries. A few of the remaining lower strata of the upper, all the old middle and most of the old working class, all these live in Britain their wealth and attitudes are little different and they can all now be called middle class.

He will stop working people from getting on better in life through his so-far undisclosed punitive taxation ideas. His failure to say anything on stopping unwanted immigration will stop our people from getting on the housing ladder, seeing a GP or getting a dentist. And far much more.

Craig Williams is our MP. I sort of know him as he called to our house prior to the 2019 GE. He was escorted here by the local AM who is a thoroughly decent hard-working man. I know him and have 'pounded the beat' with him. I fed and watered the pair of them. Williams was very fond of my home brewed beer, as indeed he should be! It is rather good. However I got the feeling he wasn't perhaps the full shilling. I understand he was booted out of his previous Welsh constituency. I met him several times in the last 5 years and his conversation was always only about my beer; nice enough but surely there were more important topics he might have chosen to discuss with me?

My bet is that if there is any significant ground swell for Reform, Labour will use that as a sort of reluctant excuse to get a bit more tough on immigration, whilst taking credit for democracy = willing to compromise.
The reality is that even though Labour want high immigration, too much creates a backlash they cannot control. If they can control it whilst blaming it on other people, they get the best of both worlds and their plans can continue long term.
And just FYI, my belief is that the plan is to seize more and more control/power under the guise of compassion. Destabilising communities by pumping them full of strangers is key to this.
