Make The Ultimate Relaxing Bath Soak That Warms Skin!

- Today I'm showing you how to make a spicy pumpkin bath soak. It's packed with skin-loving ingredients and is the perfect anecdote for cold days as the cinnamon oil has a warming effect on skin.
This is a very soft/loose recipe; you don’t have to follow it exactly or even close to get great results. 1/4 cup (75 grams) baking soda, 1/4 cup (60 grams) citric acid, 1/4 cup (40 grams) kaolin clay, 1/2 cup (50 grams) pumpkin, 1/4 cup (35 grams) turmeric powder, 2 cups (500 grams) Epsom salt, 30 grams fragrance oil, 10 grams cinnamon oil, 5 grams polysorbate 80.
Feel free to substitute skin-loving ingredients. I added a small amount of cinnamon but you can omit it if you're worried about it irritating skin. The polysorbate 80 is crucial as it mixes the cinnamon oil with water, essentially diluting it. Otherwise it beads up on top the water (undiluted) and can irritate/burn skin. *** You can definitely add more cinnamon oil; I added 3 times the amount & it was fine.
Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients together separately. Add wet to dry & mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. Spread powder flat. Dry fully- about 2-3 days (I left mine out for 5-6 days because I was busy with Thanksgiving). Package. Add salt layers for texture variation and a pop of flare. Choose a color that stands out. Fill & pack the jar so layers aren't disturbed when moved. Heat a shrink wrap bag on top to keep the bath soak fresh.
For decoration, I made whipped soap. I added SLSa for additional foam and lather. And I also added a vanilla stabilizer. In my experience this item is likely to oxidize & turn brown because it is a creamy consistency, it has additional SLSA, and fragrance oil. I forgot to add a preservative here, but you should.
**NOTE: The Turmeric powder permanently stained the bowls I made the soak in. And I accidentally forgot to drain the tub after I put the soak in there. A couple days later I noticed a light stain in the tub. But it eventually came out.**
