    The app Anki is great for learning new Russian vocabulary. The spaced repetition helps you learn and remember the words well. However, lots of people don't use Anki to the fullest. That's why in this video I want to show you 7 mistakes that you should avoid when using Anki to learn new Russian words.

    Спасибо большое за видео! I’m so close to Reaching A2 after 3 ½ years of studying Russian by myself. And I feel learning more vocabulary will help me reach that goal!

      I am also self studying. And I gotta say, without the guidance of a university or curriculum, it's very challenging. I just don't know what to study some days to be honest, or how to put what I learned into practice. But I am so thankful I started this journey and wouldn't take it back for anything! Russian is truly one of the most beautiful and deep languages in my opinion. Good luck to you! I am not quite at A2 but I hope to be soon.

    Sorry for the weird reflection in the screen. I record on my phone and a crack got through my camera. I've gotten a new phone now, so next videos won't have the reflection :)

    I used Glossika which has it's SRS built in. Did 300-400 hours of 5000+ sentences. It is better than anki since you get sentences in context

    Don't press hard or easy. Trust me it fucks up the algorithm and say if your brain has a change in heart and then starts to remember the said word by heart and you pressed hard it's going to go slower up the graduation scale (How often it shows you the said card) then if not even if you know it very well.

    I have Anki, but rearly use it since it's a 9,000 word list with like intermediate to advance vocab.
    I still find it usefully though. I feel like I'm better off reading children stories and what not. I understand the cases fairly good now, just need more practice to remember all the declension forms. My only concern now is my lack of verbs, I was terrified of the verbs at the begging, but now I'm confident with like 80% of the verb conjugation, including verb aspects perfective, imperfective and their past tense. Working on motion verbs, though:)
    You have any advice on how to learn some good useful verbs?

    This may be a dumb question, but how do you go about adding stress marks in Russian? When I'm typing on my Android phone the Russian keyboard doesn't offer any options for diacritics aside from the ё character.

    • @LearntheRussianLanguage
      @LearntheRussianLanguage  Před 6 měsíci

      Search online for "russian add stress marks" and you'll find a couple of sites that do that.
