I bought one of these and returned it 3 damn times because they were all BROKEN out of the box! They leaked and had other issues, I also bought the straight version of this air die grinder which worked perfect out of the box. So for the angled die grinder I upgraded and got the Harbor Freight “Chief” version which worked great out of the box and has been since I’ve had it.

That's a bummer, mine was good right out of the box and still going strong. I must be lucky!

Get yourself a push pump needle greaser for the bevel gears in the head, their cheep to buy, and put grease in the head at the point where the little ball bearing is once in awhile

Milwaukee M12 angle die grinder was life changing for me in my shop. Use it for every metal project with the Roloc adapter and flap discs and pads. So I passed on an adding a pneumatic version.

These are not bad. For bodyshop and mechanic techs, these make very good "back up" grinders if the expensive unit happens to break, fail, or is stolen. Oiled properly they'll take punishment for a good stretch but with heavy use these will eventually wear out sooner than the more expensive, metal-geared versions.

Ha! I purchased that exact tool a month ago, and it was my first ever air tool also. Bought it for the sound. Happens to work pretty good too ; )

I am very experienced using air tools are use them to cut metal Sand wood and grind metal just make sure you put maybe 3 to four drops of oil in the air tool

A big plus for air tools is that they can cost a lot less than their cordless equivalents.

8:07, often referred to as a ROLOC. The name refers to 3M's brand but most mechanics and body repair techs call the generic versions "Rolocs" as well.

I used to work at a aluminum wheels manufacturing company and they used these type of grinders. If you don't oil them, they will die. They will not last 20 years with regular use and no oil. Granted, ours were used 24 hours a day.

Also, look for some wire brush attachments. They're fantastic too

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 It was working smoothly until it got stuck in a corner. A lot of coworkers are having the same issue with those grinders. As soon as they get stuck with something it breaks. I guess the rpm is to much for the mini grinder to handle. I am thinking of upgrading to the chief brand from harbor freight.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 it MIGHT be ok for a very minimal use hobbyist, but for a pro, you should just get a decent one and buy once, cry once. I and other wrenches have had a few, and it's not worth it to struggle

If I need to rely on any tool to pay my bills or put food on my table I'm likely not going to find it at Harbor Freight. Using a tool for hobby or recreation projects around the house is a completely different story and I'll likely buy the cheapest one I can find. In my mind "professional use" and "hobby use" are two completely different subjects with completely different requirements and this applies to any tool IMO.

I've had good luck with Harbor Freight air tools. I've had this one for over 3 years now and I use it quite often. Not one problem with it so far and it's still going strong. I would definitely buy the same tool again if it quits working in the future.
