      i think he only ran them consecutive because concurrent would have let this young man out in less than 10 years while his victim has life. he has no consideration of the laws or other humans.

      I’ve seen a woman decapitate a man and only got 4yrs. In comparison, 18yrs is more than fair. You should look up other cases where the sentences are between 4-15yrs and most people get under 5 yrs.

      He didn't have a license or Insurance and kept getting away with nit having either for 5YEARS or justice system is broke because of weak judges and prosecutors.     You should’ve got 18 years for each leg. Because she has to go through the rest of her life without them. But this is better than him just walking away. Another case of it didn’t have to happen. It was a choice by this young person and the victim gets to pay for it.

      @@virginia2949won’t happen. He got consecutive sentences and can’t come up for parole. He’s got to serve all the time and doesn’t get any good time under his sentencing. The state can also bring him back up on charges that the judge sat aside.

      Because the inmates he was in jail with could possibly have covid-19 or RSV which is a vicious breathing condition that he could spread all over that courtroom. So that's why he's possibly wearing a mask. There are a lot of people out here that are congregating in buildings w/o a mask and covid and RSV are still out here. I went to traffic court last week and I was the only one in the courtroom wearing a mask. I'm not guilty and I was not a coward but I had sense enough to put on a mask. And a lot of you dumbasses don't. I congratulate him for protecting other people even though he did a dastardly deed to that young lady......

      The pain and realisation won't possibly kick in until she's taken off intubation and medically induced coma ends... she can't respond normally but she's aware of those around her...
      I managed to convey operating the washing machine through hand signals 🙃... its a sureal feeling...and one I don't wish to repeat... only afterwards do you even begin to fathom what you're left to deal with...😅

    Thank you to the jury, lawyers and judge that did their job on this case. I hope this young lady will find peace with her new normal. I hope her parents realize that they did protect their daughter that night and without them she wouldn't be here, they did everything right that night! I hope this young man takes this time in jail to grow, uses it to get a degree. Hopefully when he comes out of jail he will be a better person than he was the day he caused this horrific accident.

With all the evidence against him his attorney should’ve advised him to take the plea deal. I’m just pretty sure his attorney advised him to take the deal and he thought he could get off with a not guilty for some odd reason. It’s pretty hard to argue against him driving with no license and hurting the woman he hit. There’s so much evidence and witnesses against him I don’t understand why he didn’t take the plea deal unless I’m wrong and it was as many years as he did get anyways.

    This is SICK! He’s a monster. The sentence was not enough. I feel so bad for the victim. My sister was there in St. Louis for the same tournament when they heard the crash! My sister was close to injury.

    In the description said 19 years that just not enough time for what he did she has to live with this the rest of her life why not he live in prison for the rest of his damn live. The sick judge didn't do his job and give him life

      The judge gave him the maximum sentence according to the law. He also ordered it to be consecutive instead on concurrent (all ran together).

    My daughter BEEN at those USAV tournaments. Ain’t no reason he should not be in prison for life! Most of these girls compete since the age of 12 all to achieve scholarships, invitational to D1 university schools, etc., based on those performance which they train extensively hard for, all avid the United States. If this was my daughter; I don’t know I’d have been able to hold it together and NOT go after the person who forever changed the logged of my child who did absolutely NOTHING To this individual. He deserves no sympathy

    For the defendant to NOT say anything... speaks volumes about his character. He does not give two 💩 about anyone. He does not respect anyone.
    Mom was right, he has no remorse. If he wanted to HOPEFULLY have a concurrent sentence (glad he didn't btw) he could have apologized. Have a nice time in prison, punk!

    I’m so glad she’s walking again. Last time I saw her she was still in a wheelchair. So glad she was able to get prosthetics and be able to walk again. 18 years isn’t enough but at least it’s something.

    The judge's questions to the defendant about his lawyer were interesting. It will be harder for him to claim ineffective counsel for an appeal give njis answers. More jurisdictions should have the judge do this.

    This is tragic for everyone involved. That girl went through so much and was only here to a tournament, and he lost a well all because of a reckless decision that we all know he didn't intend to hurt her. Two teens and two complete life changes. I hold my son accountable all the time, and he doesn't like it always, but he'll have to respect it in the longrun because things can really change in the blink of an eye.

    He was intoxicated, drugged, under the influence of an ilegal substance, no drivers license, wreckless, no remorse. His momma should have been judged too. She provided a lethal weapon to person not prepared or trained to handle it.

    What about the mother who rented a car and let her unlicensed son drive it! She should be judged as well and both should be made to pay some type of restitution. This will drive the point thar kids and parents are accountable.
