Best video I've found yet about how to sound country. Appreciate it.
Awesome! Glad this video helped.
THANKS for naming the key first thing! so many teachers on the tube just say start with this fret or put your finger here or there.
That's a pretty important thing to mention!
I’ve been blowing through videos for 2 weeks looking for someone to simply show me my STARTING point for a lead ride.Your subtracting 3 is what I’ve been searching for.
Thank you for Not assuming people know those lil things.
Very much appreciated!!!
Needless to say, SUBSCRIBED!!!
Im so glad that these videos helped! Its a good feeling to share the stuff that people showed me or i had to figure out by trial and error. Thanks for subcribing! -Sparky
The "subtract 3" thing is just a simple way to explain Relative Minor. Basically, C major and A minor are relative to each other - they contain the same notes. The 6th note of any major scale is the relative major. Going down from the first note on the E string, that ends up being 3 frets down since that's the lower octave of the maj6th interval.
This is GREAT really helped me keep going man!!
Im really glad this lesson helped. Keep it up! Dont stop rockin

Sparky, May an old keyboard player who doubles on guitar jump in for a minute? The good stuff you share just past 11:00 about A minor being the RELATIVE MINOR of C Major? ..same key signature and all? (some Music Theory nerd VOCABULARY, there :-) Truth is: Not just scalar-type licks, but a WHOLE BUNCHA Blues-y and Minor Rock licks in Am sound Major & Country-fied in C. Not quite 100%...but a lot! Thanks for your time! Great lesson!
Dude you just cleared up a bunch of s*** for me that I kind of already knew. It's all clear to me now thank you thank you! I'm in!

Monkeys when you give…. Peanuts”
Chef Boyardee
Yea the mic that I was using wasn't the best. I didn't realize how bad it sounded until I finished recording the video. If anyone can recommend a good lapel mic I would definitely appreciate it.
What’s that pentatonic scale that everybody’s supposed to know?🙈
Found the beginning of the video very helpful but then struggled to keep up..🙈 maybe my levels not high enough but also it would’ve been helpful to see the notes and scales visualised till end of Video not only in the beginning. Found them really helpful!!
You have a great vibe and this kinda made my day :D
Hoping I’ll improve, come back to this video and then understand/can follow fully..
xxxx thank you!!!
Can you give some ideas on how to play along with a country backing track?
