- Soooo I bought some corsets from the brand Lace Made. The red velvet set and the Van Gogh sunflower corset/stays, a cottagecore/medievalcore/royalcore. I also make some alterations to one of the items because spoiler alert: it didn't fit right. I'm not great at sewing or diy, but I wanted to give this shot. If you've been thinking about buying anything from here for a Renaissance Faire or just a frolic around the Shire, I hope you enjoy this video!

I just came across Lace Made and I am IN LOVE with all of their things. I can't justify buying a corset top bc tbh not my normal style but I'm glad it looks amazing in person!! That red one is WOW. I'm so glad to hear about their craftsmanship though because that's such a hit or miss with these stores and I'm so picky about them. Thank you for making this review! It's great to see you making the clothes fit you instead of forcing your body to fit the clothes! If you add rivets for corset lacing in the future, I would recommend sewing in some twill tape where the bones for the clasps in the front used to be. This will give it more structure and strength and reduce the lacing pulling at the individual points were the holes are, and instead spread the force more evenly. This not only makes it look nicer, but I believe it also helps reduce the chance of rips/tears (not sure on that one tho). Either way I hope this is helpful for future modifications.

I wish more black people would model in their dresses💔. I’m not trying to bring race into this but I don’t even know if the dress would look good on be because there’s not a woman of color so i can see how it looks on her skin
Yeah on their website I agree that it would be helpful if they had more representation in their models. So far I’ve mostly seen Asian and some white models but that has been it.
I have seen some black cottagecore creators on Instagram model their garments so I will share those below. Hopefully this is helpful!

Corsets like that are part of many regional traditional dresses here in Spain. Valencia, Alicante and many other provinces use these. They are pretty common in second hand sites, but NOT cheap 💲
Well that just means I need to travel aboard and check out second hand and charity shops in other countries! Maybe some day I can do a thrift travel tour. Take only a carry on and my camera equipment and thrift my looks as I go 🤔

Finally someone reviewing this brand. Thanks 💖 btw I got that Van Gogh corset form Ali express without knowing it was a copy from lace made. the one from Ali express is of course just a piece of elastic fabric with busk in the front. So no quality at all. But after watching the video I decided the original one won't fit my large back. Thank you so much for reviewing the brand,they have so many cute things and you video is the first one I find about them.
Glad to help! I’ve also seen others Ali dupes and there’s definitely a HUGE quality difference. Lacemade is very well made but it’s a shame that the Van Gogh corset runs small. It’s definitely the design choice of not having a laceup in the back. If it has it would have been a lot more forgiving. Their other corsets though are better designed so I hope you find one you love! ♥️ I just pre-ordered one of their newest designs and when I get it I’ll be reviewing it 🥰

The red set is so good I’m not surprised it sold out. I’ve been tempted to get one of the pink / purple toned sets that have a similar look but I’ll have to wait until I have more funds lol. They look so dreamy tho!

Thank you! & it didn’t take too terribly long to come. I ordered in December right before the holidays, December 21st, then received it on January 5th. There were a couple holidays in between so I think that’s fairly fast for coming from Shanghai.

Adding to the algorithm the comment that I also greatly love using mallets (yours looks identical to mine) but sadly the only time I get to use mine is if I am either smashing peppermints for a peppermint bark candy or putting together, like, shelving units. I feel like more problems could be resolved with the proper use of a rubber mallet. XD
I am also super fond of sunflowers, and the corset is lovely. You also look freaking fabulous in that red number

Lacemade seems like it’s hit or miss. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with them. I pre-ordered the Miss Potter corset. It said on the site that it would be shipped on 5/20. I noticed on the 22nd that I still hadn’t received a shipping notification so I checked the site again. They changed the date to the 30th. The 2nd of June came around and still no notification. I contacted them and they said that it wasn’t in stock yet even though the site said they’d ship on 30th. I canceled my order and asked for a refund today on the 12th, and they said that it had already been canceled but they’d issue my refund 🤔. I never even canceled the order before today.

Thank you for this! I wanna order a corset from their website (miss potter corset) and idk what size to get. The size chart would tell me i need a S but the customer sercive said M.. i want it to fit snug rather then too loose.

I’m 5 foot 4 inches, 35” bust and 27” waist. The top of the red velvet set fit well but the skirt was slightly too loose (I got mediums in both) I also didn’t wear a bra with the top as it was thick enough and had enough structure. Usually I’m a US4 or small and between a UK 8 & 10. Hopefully that helps!
you said you got a medium in all the sizes, what size are you normally in US sizes for reference?

I know, right?? I have been looking forever, and I am struggling to find *any* information. I love their things, but it’s hard for me to justify a purchase if their items are made unethically.
I will say the lack of transparency on the website about their production is a bit of a red flag to me 😅😭

How long would you say shipping took?
It’s hard to say because I have to take into account that I ordered during the holidays so there were some delays with the mail carrier. But from what I recall it didn’t take too long considering that circumstance. Seemed fairly reasonable.

@@thrifts.and.lavender8285 I got mine in XS and find it tight in the neck so for me I would have gotten a S or M if I wanted it even more loose. My chest is 35” and waist is like 27.5” if that helps. What size were you looking at? Sometimes with tops like this it’s better to get on the looser side rather than tight, at least in my experience because I tend to layer sweater vests and overalls on top so it helps cinch it in.

If you got it from Lacemade they are legit. The quality isn’t bad but definitely consult the size chart for fit. I got a medium and I have a 27.5” waist if that helps (and it’s somewhat loose on the waist but not terribly so). Only complaint was definitely the zipper was a little difficult but besides that the skirt is immaculate.

This may be a dumb question, but is Lacemade legit? There's one dress and corset combo I really... really want, but I'm so worried about being scammed. I already tried purchasing the items, but my card declined. I have the money, I guess the bank just doesn't trust the website.
But, I see CZcams videos of people reviewing Lacemade products in Lacemade packaging. So, has everyone who has ordered received what they ordered? How long did it take? Did you have trouble purchasing your items? I really want this one set.
They seem to be legit to me, they’re just overseas so it can take a bit to ship their items and sometimes things are pre-order rather than ready to ship. If you have an order with both pre-order and ready to ship, they won’t ship it out until the whole order is ready. I have another review of them as well that I posted a year later than this one. I’d say the cons of the brand is: the sizing runs very small and then the return process is confusing and didn’t work for me (in the 2nd review I posted the items were too small but I couldn’t return them). But other than that I have pieces from them that I like. Just definitely pay close attention to the size charts.
They’re sending me some free items for another review so I’ll be doing a 3rd review soon of a much larger haul to get a better overview of the brand (previously I bought the items myself so I was limited to how many items I could review).

I'm in love with this corset. But I have two problems:
- Money, the cost is very high and the customs taxes will hurt a lot...
- My bust size is 107cm... (╯︵╰,)

🥺 oh no! I’ve seen a section on their site for more inclusive sizing but nothing has been released yet but hopefully that means they’re working on it. But the customs fees can be brutal depending on where you’re from.
Would have been helpful to know your size and bust size. This would have also been helpful with real reviews on the website
My bust is about 35” around and my waist is 27.5”
They aren't real corsets- the only true, steel boned corset is probably the "waist trainer" you held up.
The others are corset tops with plastic boning- fitted tops really. That explains the reasonable prices.
