Paul, you only live once... Trailer it to France, drive it, put it on a trailer and drive to Italy etc... You bought your dream car, why waste the fun in your local area. Enjoy the car while you still can, I don't have 10k laying around, but if I did, and I had my dream car (Carrera GT) I would put as much miles on it as possible.... Just enjoy it! You deserve every second of it
if edmond mondi can take his murci on an european roadtrip,rags the shit out of it and break a few cluthes without a care in the world,then so can paul or anyone else.Edmond is much more well off though,so that is a factor

Sorry Paul but you brought a lemon. You’ve driven this car maybe a dozen times in the year. You can’t actually afford it if you’re complaining you can’t take it on road trips. I think this car scares you financially.

@@olliewhatley mine's got 60K miles on it, been very reliable. Goes through clutches, but I do those myself, and converted from e-gear to gated manual. Its just a car.
his car is not a Lemon, its just that he's scared if puts miles on it, he won't be able to afford the balloon payment at the end of his finance term. I bought mine for cash back in 2013 and its got 60K miles on it; never an issue if you're not worried about finance. @@erwinkoreneef yeh that's true but it can be harder to be successful on CZcams when other car youtubers already have money which they can spend on so many cars to help with the CZcams
So the "money problem" only really answers, the US question? How about the R8 audi sponsored him for a year? And still you can collaborate with other big automotive or non automotive youtubers? and stradman in us is an example of a CZcamsr that had no cash behind him..

sorry the idea of owning a car is to drive & enjoy alas car collectors have ruined that, in the end all you end up with is a piece of memorabilia because if you go over a certain mileage you'll lose £££££££'s.

RWL2012 watch the backstory. 1. They sold him a pile of junk. 2. They didn’t disclose that it was not original paint and it’s original colour was black not white. 3. They gave him less support then a broken Zimmer frame.
When you have the likes of Seen Thru Glass and Shmee150 doing their epic road trips this has been a disappointing year for SOL viewers. I'd say Paul hasn't put anything out with any form of quality, unlike previous years, for the last 6 months at least. The most refreshing part of this channel is his attempts to get his bike licence with the help of Honda.
I wanna see good old SOL make a return, with the road trips and spotting etc.

@@Erowens98 new clutch was put in. I figure alot of reasons why it doesn't get driven beside resale
@@allensaunders449 to be fair, a clutch is a wear part. Its not designed to last forever, and in a car like this, driven like this, they never last long. A worn clutch is not any more indicative of a lemon than worn tires or brake pads.

Paul you still have to sort the paint out and restore it to factory black before you would bet 200k for the car as it stands you are looking at 170k
and convert it to manual
And put a boat engine in it
And add SV kit on it
and put 17" Ford Fiesta alloys on it

As far as modern tire options if aftermarket wheels as used 18x9 and 18x12.5, then 255/35r18 and 335/30r18 Toyo R888R are a good choice(including awd) as long as one dosen't mind a 10,000Km tread life, not traveling in temperatures under 10 degrees Celsius or driving at appropriate speed(lower speed as tread depth gets shallower) for a Toyo R888R through standing water.

I remember like 5 years ago when Paul had his 1st supercar the Audi R8 feels like yesterday I’m excited to see this channel in another 5 years if you went from a Audi R8 to this beast of a Lamborghini GL Paul !

I really appreciate your candidness on camera about the reality of owning a car like this. Your attitude to making sure it holds value is not unique and this is why so many beautiful cars sit unused or end up doing laps around Mayfair and Knightsbridge to look good. Obviously it's your car and you can do what you want with it, but I really think you might regret not doing at least one decent road trip in it. Even if you get it trailered somewhere to take the heavy lifting motorway miles out of the equation, I think any trip you do in this car will be the trip of a life time.

I bought my 2008 Murcielago roadster in August 2019 and now i m coming up to one year of ownership. i had to do a lot of work to the car to bring it up to spec but 20k dollars after the car is awesome. it has actually almost made me bankrupt because i dont own a business but you are right on all counts ....there is no depreciation and there is NOTHING out there to replace the feel of a murcielago lp 640.
Unsellable until you get the paintwork sorted. When are you putting it back to stock / factory spec?
I've watched countless videos of cars, loud cars, while wearing headphones, and you're car's sound forced my cellphone to lower the volume and notify me lower the volume, or otherwise I'll damage my hearing, I'm not even joking this actually happened

Paul me old mate, your maths needs some reconsideration. To bring your car up to the theoretical £200k mark you will need to A/ need a full repaint, B/ replace the clutch for the new buyers convenience and a dealer will charge you £15k to sell the car and take the responsibility of you getting you your money. That totals £30k conservatively. Then you have a car ( that aside from needing an MOT) you can't drive and while you are waiting for it to be sold still costs you £3k a month in finance/insurance etc. You can spin any yarn you want about free motoring but until it's sold there is no materialisation of asset value. Can't wait to see how few miles you have done once that not database is updated.
The outside cam view is awesome, gives a real sense of what's its like! ( for those who can't afford it) :)

@@chrisscott1402 Whats inspiring is that he is sacrifying reason and comon sence in order to own and live with the car of he´s dreams, even if for a limited period of time. And regardless of if he´ll loose some money on it. You can´t put a price on smiles and in the end those are the days he´ll remember and I bet he won´t regret doing it. Thats what´s inspiring. You might wanna try it once ;)
White paint is still my fav. I know it’s not great, needs a respray, but my god it looks good from a distance

Very poor example, its an import not even a uk car. They should accept liability for painting, the fact its been painted in the first place (think black is original colour)

The fact is, each time you drive it, its an event! The expression on the faces of you and your passenger each time you accelerate with vigour is timeless. Dont worry, you just need to plan ahead to 'obtain' another ride for your road trips. Think of it this way; at least the Murcielago is safe from the Monaco car pound.
I'm following you since 2014. Question is why I followed you back in 2014 just because of your famous road trips. Merci is investment car. When we want to grow we just focus on how to grow.
I'm not saying sell your merci or don't buy it again. I'm just saying you can't live with only one car. I watch your all videos for many years because I've attachment with your channel. But new subscriber don't think same.
James "stradman" can buy merci but he's not buying it at the time because he knows he's not at right moment. Because he wants to grow himself & his channel. He'll buy the merci in future when he find out the right moment.
What about daily driving it, getting in and out of, wide doors, public parking worries, speed bumps and general obstacles? Any scruffing of wheels or dents? OCD cleaning after use?
These are worries I go through every day of owning a few precious cars. Hell even in my 2018 Insignia I mind where I park and drive it. But supposedly it’s worth it. Isn’t it?

Everyone has their favorite color for a vehicle and while your green is beautiful there's is simply no better color for that car than black. However, what you accomplished with the exhaust was simply brilliant. Period. That "old-time" F1 sound you duplicated can not be beaten. just wish I could experience that in person. Impossible, I know.

my Mitsubishi GTO originally cost me £6,000 and i have had it for 16 years, i had a great drive from Littlehampton to Salisbury for lunch and then back on the back road over the downs was really enjoyable.....it is a V6 three liter engine with four wheel drive and four wheel steer. it is a great drive over the twisty roads......it is a last generation supercar and it has gone up in value since when i bought it on account of it's rarity and it is still cheap to maintain. Japanese supercar is a winner.

It'll be a couple years before i can reasonably afford one. (building up that property portfolio hard these days so not much spare cash). But now i'm starting to doubt whether i should even consider it, that engine will make me crash it constantly.
