I loved those drived tones, pairs perfect with that es335
Played a couple of these in the Gibson Garage in Nashville last month. Great amps. The quality, like the price point, sits between an all-tube Fender reissue and a boutique amp of the same size. I really don't get the Gibson hate out there... They make good stuff, especially lately. If you don't like Gibsons, don't buy them. Problem solved.
I dont get where they got 1499 from , it doesent even have a full eq , what exactly allowed them to get that pricing for a 5 watt amp

Build quality is definitely not what Gibson is charging for these. I wanted one at first but wouldn't touch it now.

@@theuserthatishere all 1500 dollar amps look like that inside. The Marshall Studios,suhr hombre all the PCB fender reissues the list goes on. If you want a true handwired amp then you will have to Pony up some more money

Sounds great, really looking forward to trying one of these in person. Can't believe how many professional opinions this amp has pulled out of the woodwork - all bagging it without even giving it a chance to prove itself. Love this guilty until proven innocent world we live in, not.....
gibson lied and said hand wired? not saying pcb is always bad but the lies? not getting my $. chance to prove itself? by that time out of return window and also gibson has been building mediocre for years. let's stop funding this simply because of their cool body and head stock shapes..... btw i thinks pauls are the coolest ever guitar but currently just making it on looks alone

It has a FAN! A cooling FAN!!!! Otherwise, yes it's a very specific nicely styled amp. Except for that constantly whirring fan ;-)
the only time I hear the fan on mine is if the room is completely silent, it's not an issue.

I appreciate that it may be quiet enough not to bother anyone while they're just playing, I'd almost bet recording with a mic near it would mean you're gonna hear it on playback. Katana's are all digital/solid state and don't need a cooling fan. Just an dd design factor for it to have.
@@kjneese Totally. I was just starting to look at this purely for studio use but if it has fan noise no way I'm taking a chance.

Why don’t we just hold off on criticizing the quality until these amps start having issues?
I’ve seen inside. I agree it definitely has the potential to be very problematic, but that is all we can say at this point. Let’s save the attack until the problems start.

At this point, Gibson has become totally synonymous with insane prices for trash build quality. Pretty hard to justify anything they offer at this point - especially with what else is out there

Sounds great, but way overpriced for a poorly constructed amp. Typical Gibson product. No wonder they have been in financial trouble for years.
It's not overpriced it's a boogie amp from California. The workers probably make $100 an hour. So would you be happier if they made them in Asia with cell phone parts
