Hey guys, a little update on the 8/2/23 series: I decided to scrap part 3 of 8/2/23 because it was me riding around talking without getting any orders. It would have been a very boring video to release. Partly my mistake for not figuring that out while editing, but it happens I guess! Anyway, thought I'd let you guys know if you were wondering. The ambiance of midtown at 2 am during a raging thunder storm is an incredible sight to see. Really enjoyed this video, unique perspective that most New Yorkers haven’t experienced because it’s risky being out that late especially when you have to commute back to outer boroughs.
Yeah, I agree. There is a certain ambiance at that time, especially with the rain. Was debating to put music in it but decided not to, a lot for this reason

Uber needs to be more transparent with their drivers. They don’t allow you to see the customer address until after you pick up the order. They don’t allow you to see how many Walmart grocery items your retrieving until after you pick up 100 bags of groceries. I don’t like the uncertainty. Driving for Uber/Door Dash and Lyft for 5 years now. NYC is a whole different Beast.

sucks i used to know that old white dude homeless guy he used to live in jersey and now hes outside with hump on his back i gave him some food and he was grateful such a kind soul and no one is helping the dude other then that i love your content it gives me idea if i should do walking mode at 3 am
yeah, i came off pretty critical of the homeless in this video, but I understand not all of them are violent or mentally disturbed. Some have had a stroke of very bad luck, and I greatly sympathize with them. However, from personal experience living here 5 years most of the issues you'll encounter with people in NYC will be the homeless, probably due to drug use and/or mental disorders. You have to be careful around homeless people for this reason

They really do need to update their app with the accepting thing. They could at least just show you at how much the order is for and the address it's going to after you accept it. That's one thing Door dash has on uber. Also if I get a double and want to deliver the second order first bc it makes more sense, I have the option to do so.
I agree. Drivers end up canceling both orders on a double because they don’t know how much the 2nd one is
I limit my walking mode to 2.5 miles so I don't get long range walking deliveries sometimes I get surge and sometimes I get long idle times but it's good
I used to do over 100 dollars on foot and I got great ratings too. Good luck to all doing Uber Feets

@@ETAonTheEUC I be by flatbush. It be hella slow sometimes but it picks up around 7pm dies at 9 pm to me . Picks back up at 11 to 3 am maybe barley any doordasher at that time

What if you used EUC for walking mode? (When it's not raining) Would it make sense? Does Uber track your speed?
I've heard Uber tracks your speed, yes. I might have been notified once about it but that was a long time ago. I think it's a little harder to track speeds in a congested city.
As far as using an EUC in walking mode, your ETAs would be way ahead of time. You may have to wait longer at pickups because of this. Really, I only use walking mode in the rain, and because it's raining it'll always be good. Without walking mode I think you have better opportunities with bike/ebike mode
The pin is the last 4 of customer phone number they use on the app. I ask that is they don’t remember

I personally don't think uber eats walking full time is possible in NYC. You might be able to pull it off if you're in the perfect area, but it'll wear you out too much physically. Also, $/hr depends on seasonality, time of day, weather, etc., etc. You'll have to do your own research on that as it's too much for me to discuss here

Maybe. They do track the speed of drivers sometimes

Yes...That area where you went to Taco Bell is very sketchy. I work right next door to that 7/11 on 37th and 8th and I work until 10 pm. Alot of Tricky Tricky people out there. Like 3 weeks ago, my coworker went to the McDonald's next door to Taco Bell, and someone snatched the McDonald's bag right out his hand and ran. Doesnt sound to bad right? Well, he had his debit card in the bag with the food. ( I dont know why he did that) So Please be careful. I love your content, but I wouldn't make a habit of doing deliveries this time of hour. Walking mode. Walking mode also has navigation

I do delivery on bike in Toronto and here bike / walking doesn't give you Uber navigation, it gives you the navigate button which puts it in Google maps. but here they have deprioritzed bikes where cars get most orders even short ones so I see a lot of couriers using car accounts on bike, which is why I asked! thank you!
Why didn't you use the KS or the Max. Cover the display on the Max for the rain. The KS should've been fine in the rain...no???
My Sherman Max is making funny noises again and I need to diagnose it, which I have not yet, so I'm not riding that atm. The KS16X may have been OK in light rain, but medium to heavy rain I simply try to avoid riding any EUC. It's too dangerous imo
Just wanted to know if walking mode sends you deliveries or if is it still not working?
In my market (Manhattan), it is good when it rains and when the weather is very bad out. When the weather is nice it is not so good and other modes are better

@Sincere1982 your ETAs will be late by a lot and will likely hurt your ratings and tips. It’s also not uncommon to get 3-4 mile orders one way in bike mode. Don’t think you want to walk that

And than you post your business to google places my business free listing you get 10 company names( you need 10 address so google can versify ) and use IP phone system and just answer phone book appointments and send technicians give ‘em commission! ( and you just free load ) never give up brother 🙏

Walking mode works all the time, but everything in general is better when the weather is bad. It just depends on what vehicle you want to use when it's raining. Right now I just do walking when it rains.
Looks very inefficient to switch phones and sims all the times. Can't you get a power bank and just keep it on the charge? Seems like a better solution
The phones usually last for 3 to 3.5 hours each. Usually I only have to switch once per shift, but if I'm doing longer shifts I may have to do it a couple times. It's not too bad. I don't feel the need to change it up atm unless someone has a better solution?

Why does Uber do PIN numbers
I’ve heard different reasons why. I haven’t researched it myself, but some people say it’s because the customer has reported missing items before so Uber gives them a PIN? I’ve always assumed it’s because the customers wants to make sure they get their food, and no funny business with drivers
@@ETAonTheEUC I thought we as delivery drivers ask the customer For the Pin for secure confirmation of the order. If the customer thought food was missing the customer should be confirming with us. Maybe I need look more into it also. I had one the other day and didn’t realize until I was about to leave but I didn’t want to bother the customer anymore.
