G-URSA, a private charter Sikorsky S-76C and A7-MBN, a Gulfair Sikorsky S-92 Helibus departing City Manchester Airport with VIPs after the City v United derby match 10-09-2016
The vertical take off is actually military maneuver. They have a secure area on the ground about 300 feet out. If they were to fly horizontal they could actually more at risk from a shoulder mounted rocket. This way they climb to an altitude that is out of range for this type of weapon. For security this is the best maneuver.
@Larry Higgison - The vertical takeoff is known as a "Category A" departure used in confined areas with certain certified multi-engine helicopters. It guarantees that the aircraft will either be able to fly-away or land back on the same area it just took off from in case of an engine failure.
Fantástica máquina.

No sound of engines starting.
Nice to see 'normal' take-offs instead of those hideous vertical-climb efforts!
