reason is simple they not need 1000's of student like amazon they only need 5-10 each year at max so why to waste time and effort of eyerybody.
for taking interview they need to spend there precious time to take interviews of students which worth lakhs of ruppees so actually it is loss making for companies to take interview in every college.

    Amazing list of companies...
Waise I dont know if you can talk about this, but Amazon also has increased their CTC this year. Both Atlassian and Amazon visited our campus this year and Amazon was the better bargain for me monetarily cause they gave 25 lakhs as cash in 1st year itself with base as 15.5 whereas base for Atlassian was 14 with 1.4 as performance bonus. Also, amazon has the relocation benefit of 1.5 too, which was not in Atlassian...
I know that still Atlassian is a better choice for most because of the work life balance or the gifts or the constant number of stocks which we get in the 4 years, but still.... Just wanted to put it out.
    Great video as always🤟

Not true though. Amazon gives you joining bonus for the first two years to compensate for the stock that vests for the last two years and so on. Plus for internal folks who get promoted, they get a lot more salary at Amazon wrt to Atlassian. But yes true that. Will not be able to speak in public 🙂

Interview difficulty is less than Google. Atlassian has the least focus on DSA. D E Shaw has distributed focus on DSA, LLD as well as computer fundamentals.

Just my opinion but the bias that DE Shaw/ Arcesium gets on this channel is unjustified. The WLB is terrible. US-slavery culture. Promos based on PnL. Bonus distribution logic is hidden from employees. Tech-stack is poor. 90% of the firm works on Python but you are not allowed to use external libraries. Lost of tech-debt. Most Py devs have to work on perl to python conversion. Others have to work on maintaining 100s of legacy projects. There is huge a bias in project distribution. No learning in terms of LLD, HLD, scaling of infra, etc. Most of the employees are freshers who work all day and increase the expectations for others. I've seen teams vanish within a span of 6 months.

I have already pointed out these things multiple times in my videos. Be it comparison videos or arcesium video. I have never talked about the work. Though personally I have gotten to work on a lot of cool stuff. But have always maintained the position of it being a second class citizen in a financial firm.
I guess you do not go through my videos.
Any who. I personally have enjoyed amazing work life balance. All of my friends there have also enjoyed amazing work life balance.
For example, I used to go to work at 3 PM in the afternoon and used to work till 10 PM. 7 hours including all the breaks. And all. That is the very definition of great work life balance. Have always gotten very good feedback in reviews, owned two of the three applications of my team and have always gotte. Yearly raises in the range of 20 - 30 % 🙂.
So yes, i will tell it from my experience. My experience has been good.
The work culture has been quite good. The level of care for employees that they have shown was great as well!

      Thanks for addressing this Soumyajit.
First things first I really really love your content. The time and energy that you give to these videos is amazing.
Yes you are right, Shaw is quite employee friendly. Point of flexible timing is also correct. Unfortunately, the salary hike point is unrealistic and those metrics are for the corrections that happen for non IITians and not all get those too.You already covered this point I think in one of your videos.
I wish I could share more to highlight the cons of being at Shaw but it would only lead to bad faith or me sounding negative. I've seen teams vanish within 6-12 months. That says something. Also, I don't know much Arcesium. Only taking about My DE Shaw exp.

Yes in many companies this is the case. For example, Goldman Sachs, D E Shaw they have similar structure. Which is wrong. Most pure tech companies do not have such a thing

The main reason why companies do this is not because of any bias instead they do this because an IITian will have multiple offers and for getting that talent companies need to pay more. Which is why the salary gap for the same role gets stretched.

It depends from one company to another. Generally, years of experience doesn't have any correlation with salary. Salary depends on the level. And with each level increase, salary generally increases exponentially

very disrespecting to companies like microsoft, amazon , adobe ,apple whose net worth is more than every one of the companies mentioned here in the top 10 list. Granted their base pays might be less at SDE 1 level than the top 10 but they more than make up or be comparable in terms of stock options and more importantly job security. Anyone watching this video please also look at these companies , as in times of financial macroecomic stress most of the companies mentioned here have a chance of facing difficult situation. Honestly amazed that these companies didnt get an honorable mention.

I worked at DE Shaw. WLb sucked. Compensation for non-IIT is extremely bad. Even after good ratings they do not increase salary. After 4 years, I was earning less than a fresher. Talking about base. If this is not enough, my whole team left during lockdown. They treated us extremely poorly. I feel only the people who have not worked their or get attracted to gifts like the company.
