This lift is situated in a new building in Berne. It is a good example of a new standard 5500 installation. Depending on the capacity, the 5500 uses 2 or 4 traction belts with a width of 40mm, compared to the 30mm belts of the Schindler 3300. There are also 50mm and 60mm belts available, although these are only used on higher specced models.

Der Schindler 5500 ist meiner Meinung nach der beste moderne Aufzug für kleine und mittlere Gebäude. Er ist nicht billig, aber auch nicht overpowered - und durch die Miconic Steuerung trotzdem unglaublich zeiteffizient

Sehe ich grundsätzlich genauso. Fahrkomfort und Stabilität gehen echt in Ordnung, Anfahren und Bremsen mit der Mic MX-GC und den Variodyn-Umrichtern ist sowieso top. Pre-Doors gibts auch als Option zu haben, da kann man nicht motzen.
Ist halt leider echt schade, dass die meisten Verwaltungen einen auf billig machen und sich nur den 3300 holen, teils auch für höhere Gebäude. Die Bionic-Steuerung und die zugehörigen Vacon-Umrichter machen nämlich definitiv keine Freude. Auch wenn es dort eine tolle Direkteinfahrt gibt - Die Türen öffnen erst nach Anlegen der Bremse. Diese Verzögerung ist ganz hässlich, da bringt das schnelle Einfahren nichts mehr. Bei der Abfahrt genau das gleiche, kein Vortakten des FU, alles dauert ewigs.

I do like a walk through lift ,a tube station near used to have a twin lattice gate walk through (driver operated ) they updated it, spoiled it in my opinion.

Luckily there are still many old lifts without inner doors in Switzerland. But they are becoming less over time, sadly.

@@TheLiftDragon when we were in Turkey a few years back they had a lift with no inner doors. Just for good measure they also had big opening windows on the 5th floor landings with about a 300mm ledge to trip over !

Those are not FI GS, those are Linea 300. FI GS would not have white when unlit and shorter dot matrix indicators. 5500 can be custom ordered with non-proprietary fixtures like FI MXB, FI MXH, FI MXV (for protection against vandalism) and Dewhurst. DMG, Schaefer, possibly Vega fixtures.

Oh, I see, I got that messed up. The Schaefer MT42 and RT42 are also very common fixtures used by Schindler in Switzerland.
