    Good video bill. Quick heads up to extended uppercuts, remember to hold square until you spin. What i do is i press square, keep it help when pressing X, then i flick my hand to circle and keep X held.

      Thanks Ricky. That's pretty interesting, I do the same thing except I tap X and then circle at the end.

      Yeah, as of today, I was practicing in the spot you said to and I got like 8 boosteds in a row and Kreygasm'd

    Nice tutorial but I have one remaining question.
    Is there a quick way to obtain my car keys? I seem to have lost them and I have to go over to the airport to pick owen wilson up. Air canada is running late.

    well it would help beginners if you would say which buttons to use just showing movement tells us nothing we can experiment and figure that much out i am 71 and enjoy my ps3 but i have a hard time with hi jumps thanks anyway

    I accidentally did an Uppercut Boost on a Red Eco Vent on Snowy Mountain. It looked super cool and it got me to the ice in-front of the Fortress. Not sure if it's particularly useful in a run or not. If you want me to upload it so you can check it out, I can do that for you if you wish.

    what if you zoom walked to misty? that would take forever, but it would be cool though!

    Hey Bill, i was wondering if i'd be able to include your video in my livestream(s) so i can learn how to move correctly? or would you prefer that I not play your video on my stream(s)?

    I am new to speed running in general, I wanted to replay this game so i picked up a copy and restored my ps2, after i beat it i wanted to see if other people play it. And to my surprise i saw people not only play this, but almost live it. Awesome video! I want to try to learn to speedrun as i am intrigued by watching them. Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
    But i have one question. How important is it to have a Black Label disc? Will having a greatest hits version affect learning how to speedrun.

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 9 lety

      ***** So with black label, the only difference is the save and load glitch at the end. It skips the whole citadel level. This saves a load of time (I think around 5 minutes). There is an any% category you could run where you cannot save and load throughout the whole run. This will remove that glitch you can't do. 100% also uses it but you should be ok to run that. So there are options. If you really wanted you could get a black label once you really know you want to run any%. In the meantime just run the no save load category. This category is actually much easier to run and is on our speedrun leaderboards. So I'd recommend running that as a beginner.

    Question, I've seen a lot of speed runners do the head bash into the ground to get more height, how do you go about doing this? I've seen some do it like 3 times in a row, is this only avaliable on the ps2 version of the game o? Everytime I attempt to do so it doesn't give me any height

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 7 lety

      It's a technique you can do on any version, all you have to do is hold x as you're hitting the ground from the ground pound. Once you get better at it you can just press x as you hit the ground though. Hope that helps.

    I just cannot get the distance with the boosted uppercut, even if I do the edge standing setup. I do the sequence just like you show it, but you get more distance with just punch+uppercut than I get with spin included. It's about the same as a single roll jump :P I can get the same height with next to no issues.
    Can running the game through an emulator make it so that the trick doesn't work anymore?

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 8 lety

      not too sure about that, never really used emulator... Do you feel the burst of speed you get, or does it feel like you are doing a regular uppercut?

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 8 lety

      sounds like maybe you are walking off too fast, I'm not too sure though

  • @rusty6172
    @rusty6172 Před 9 lety

    Uppercut boosts are a lot easier if you just walk into the ledge while crouched and uppercut then. Not applicable everywhere though.

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 9 lety

      Yeah, thanks for reminding me kind of forgot about that. The only place where we really use it is red sage cs skip. You can also use it as a backup in 100% too.

    Is the boosted uppercut still possible on ps3 hd version?

  • @LewdnCute

    Can we do boosted/extended uppercuts on the PS3 version of the game?

  • @TheHypoGamer1
    @TheHypoGamer1 Před 9 lety

    Heey billbraid with the boosted uppercut when your walking off the ledge do you keep the walking postion with your thumb or do you push full forward like you would to run at max speed?

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 9 lety

      DuoExposure make sure you hold the walk speed until you do the uppercut, honestly as long as you walk off the ledge you can still get the boost no matter how early you punch

    Does Zoom walking work on the ps3 psn version or only on a black label ps2 disc?

    • @billbraid4747
      @billbraid4747  Před 7 lety

      Pretty sure it works on all versions, not too sure about that one. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work though.
